After good beginning, credibility is given away

Warning: Spoilers
Young idealistic psychiatrist Dr. Fender (Christiane Paul) leaves university and picks up her first job in the real world. In the department of Dr. Strauss (Barbara Rudnik), she is shocked how the patients, murderers and rapists, are treated. Bittner (Heino Ferch) becomes her favorite case - she wants to prove he can be helped. But she makes a huge mistake when she helps him to escape...

I was pleased with the first 20 minutes, because the story premise is interesting and Heino Ferch plays the psychopath with remarkable versatility. However, as the movie continues, it gives more and more credibility away. What would you do if you knew the hiding-place of a murderer? Call the police to go there and arrest him? No, you go alone and unarmed into the dark house, of course, so he can attack you. Did it really have to get so stupid again? I had expected something better than that.
