A strong drama with intrigue and thrills, dealing about young sicarios in Colombia
A journalist, Silvia Munt, to be aware about his brother has been killed in Colombia, as she travels to Santa Fe de Bogota where he was murdered. There she contacts his girlfriend Leonor : Klara Badiola. She discovers a crime-ridden city with drug trafficking, gangs and violence to be the norm. She meets a young sicario : Diego Achuri and his little sister. She seeks the truth in a city of lies. As the city was under extreme violence, ruling the strongest law and where kiddies and teenagers are dragged into a life of crime, become assassins . Pablo Escobar's empire governs the city, but a bit later on, he is detained and his power is dismantled and diverse factions are spreading war each other, carrying out an orgy of violence and massacres.
A harsh and intriguing film about teen sicarios who kill too easily, as they unscrupulously murder by money and drugs. This is a provoking look at an ominous underworld plenty of dangers, odds and killings. This is a mystery thriller and intense as well as intimist drama with intrigue, suspense, pursuits and social denounce about Narcos . Although there is some violence, this is not really exhibited, neither crude killings, not gore , but murders are shown in off. This picture bears remarkable resemblance to posteriorly made La Virgen de los Sicarios or Our lady of the assassins 2000 by Barbet Schroeder, also dealing with children assassins killing relentlessly by money or vengeance. Intelligent and thought-provoking script by Carlos Perez Merinero and Ana Diaz herself.
It contains an atmospheric musical score the French Pascal Gaigne, a prestigious composer who has composed a lot of films as El faro de de las orcas, Plan de Fuga, El olivo, Handia. The picture was well produced by Angel Amigo who has financed documentary as Sol del membrillo, Galindez and films as : Andel eta Yul, Fuga de Segovia, Un invierno en Lisboa and Cazador de dragones . The motion picture was professionally directed by Ana Diez. This craftswoman has made documentary as Galindez, Hay motivo, Danza de fieras, Mafia en la Habana and movies as Ander eta Yul, Algunas chicas doblan piernas cuando hablan, Paisito , among others . Rating 6/10. Acceptable, passable and a decent flick.
