London -- French director Olivier Assayas' "Summer Eyes" will be traveling to Japan following a deal with Japanese distribution entity Crest for the territory.
The movie, sold by French sales, distribution and financier MK2, has already sealed a deal with IFC for U.S. rights with the stateside distributor scheduled to release the movie in early 2009.
In Gaul, the picture is one of the titles shortlisted for the Prix Louis-Delluc 2008 prize, set to be dished out December 12 in Paris.
The other shortlisted titles are Laurent Cantet's "The Class," "A Christmas Tale," directed by Arnaud Desplechin, Jacques Doillon's "Just Anybody," Martin Provost's "Seraphine," "Adhen" from Rabah Ameur-Zaimeche and Raymond Depardon's "Country Profiles: Modern Life."...
