James Gunn’s Superman is in production and rumors surrounding the movie have already made it to discussion among fans. A recently rumored plot of the most anticipated DC movie revealed the main villain of the movie is much deadlier.

Following the rumored villain, David Corenswet’s Superman will face one of his greatest nemesis— an alternate version of himself. While there is no official confirmation for the update, it is still quite plausible. Also, Gunn will not need another actor to play the part.

A recent report from scooper @CanWeGetSomeToast revealed that David Corenswet will go toe-to-toe with, well, himself, fighting the ultimate battle against his alternate version Ultraman. The rumor further theorized that Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor would play a major role in bringing the DC villain to life as he would successfully clone Superman.

One of DC’s most popular and successful animated series was Justice League: The Animated Series that aired on Cartoon Network between 2001 and 2004. Based on the Justice League of America comics, the show which was a sequel to the Batman and Superman animated series, reached out to a wide audience who turned into hardcore buffs on the franchise.
A still from Justice League: The Animated Series
One of the main reasons for the popularity of the animated series was the various interesting trivia and facts that it carried with regard to DC storylines and its tributes to actors who played cult DC characters. One of them was Mark Hamill whose portrayal as Trickster in the 1990 series The Flash, was adapted beautifully into the show.

The reboot of the DC Extended Universe is in full development with James Gunn and Peter Safran at the helm. Of course, the end of the ‘Snyderverse’ marked the change of the actors and recasts that had already been announced. Recently, it was reported that Gal Gadot wouldn’t return for the role of Wonder Woman, and most notably, Henry Cavill won’t return as Superman for new projects in the new era of DC Extended Universe.
This was huge news since Cavill was a great Superman and one of the fan favorites, but with a new era on the horizon, new blood will get the chance to portray famous DC characters. ‘Superman: Legacy‘ is the one project everyone is excited about, and it is currently in pre-production, with new actors already being announced.

‘Superman: Legacy’ is one of the most anticipated superhero movies. The film could mark a new renaissance period for DC Comics, which is having a really bad time at the box office right now. ‘Flash’ failed completely at the box office, being one of the worst box office bombs in Warner Bros.’ history. Meanwhile, ‘Aquaman 2’ has been plagued with major reshoots, and it seems like the movie is just a mess. ‘Blue Beetle,’ which will be released quickly, seems missing in action, as no one really cares about this obscure new superhero. DC, and Marvel, for that matter, need the big names to come forward, and ‘Superman: Legacy’ could be that push that DC needs to make it big once again.
A couple of weeks ago, film reporter and YouTuber, Grace Randolph, shared the news with her audience that the story of ‘Superman: Legacy’ could revolve around a conflict in the Middle East,...

Roy Thomas was hired by Stan Lee in 1965 and succeeded him as Marvel editor-in-chief in 1972 when Lee became the publisher. Here, Thomas examines Stan Lee, the new documentary on Disney+ that has sparked debate over who deserves primary credit for the success of the Marvel Universe and its heroes — Lee or close collaborators such as artists Jack Kirby, whose son Neil has expressed disappointment in the documentary’s sidelining of his father’s contributions.
“Stan Lee was his own greatest creation.”
That’s a line that’s often tossed around these days — the more so since Stan died in late 2018 and isn’t around to respond in person to it — and there’s an argument to be made for it, as anyone who watches the new David Gelb documentary Stan Lee, now streaming on Disney+, can testify.

Face front, true believers! Here’s an interesting lil’ tidbit about the current cinema landscape. Just who has been the major part of several huge box office hits over the last fifteen years? Well, we’re not talking about an actor, or a filmmaker, or a studio exec. Oh, and he left the planet almost five years ago. Okay, you got it, I’m talking about the comic book writing superstar who co-created almost the entire staple of Marvel superheroes. And he became a fun bit of business in the screen adaptations of those characters by popping up in brief cameo roles (I made it a game with my nephews to nudge me when he flashed that big grin). He’s been profiled by several TV newsmagazine shows and mini-bios, but now he’s getting the full feature-length documentary treatment with the simply titled Stan Lee. Excelsior!

It’s a fevered dream among superhero fans. And while a DC-Marvel movie crossover is not happening soon, it certainly is on the table, at least according to writer/director/executive James Gunn, who has worked in both camps.
The comic books have already seen the characters in dual adventures, dating as far back as the 1970s. Spider-Man has teamed with Superman and Batman, The Hulk has battled Batman, and even the Silver Surfer has met Superman. Not to mention the Avengers and Justice League of America team-ups.
Such a long tradition seems ripe for filmdom’s exploitation.
Gunn, who now heads DC Studios with Peter Safran, allowed that it’s not far-fetched to see those sort of team-ups become films – some day.
In their latest issue, Empire quoted Gunn take on the matches as a definite maybe. “I’m certain that’s more likely now that I’m in charge [at DC],” Gunn told the magazine,...

As Dwayne Johnson often puts it, "the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change." That's because after years of hype-building and months of assorted and sundry promos, "Black Adam" is finally almost here.
The latest DC film will introduce Johnson's ancient Egyptian antihero Teth-Adam, a man with god-like powers who's awoken in modern times, as well as the Justice League of America. It's set to hit theaters in October, but in the meantime, Warner Bros. has at least one more new trailer up its sleeve. Take a look at the latest preview below, and see if you can feel the power shift.
A New Hero Arrives
We've seen plenty of "Black Adam" by now. First, there was a prologue-esque teaser voiced by Johnson back in 2020. Then last year's DC FanDome footage showed how a couple of explorers found Black Adam's tomb. Since then, we've already seen...

It’s hard to believe that lost nerd media is still a thing in 2022. Sure, in decades past, you would have to go to a comic con to buy an unreliable DVD-r with the Roger Corman-produced Fantastic Four movie or that unaired Justice League of America tv movie with Star Trek: Picard‘s Michelle Hurd as Fire and Miguel Ferrer as villain the Weather Man. But thanks to the wonders of the internet, you can find those films with just a few keystrokes. But if Batgirl directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are to be believed, their suddenly canceled movie will never be seen by audiences.
Speaking on the YouTube channel Skrpt, the directors — who also helmed Bad Boys for Life and two episodes of Ms. Marvel — revealed that they don’t even have copies of their film. After learning about the halt and production, El Arbi contacted Fallah and told him,...

Growing up in the 1970s, comic book readers didn’t have a lot in the way of extensions of their favorite characters. There was the occasional novel and ABC’s Super Friends, but really, little else. As a result, getting new stories or new versions of stories on an album featuring your favorite heroes seemed like manna from Heaven.
Power Records or Peter Pan Records filled that gap, beginning in the early 1970s and petering out in the early 1980s. They may be best remembered for the wonderful art produced for the album covers by Continuity Studios, the outfit run by Neal Adams and (briefly) Dick Giordano. They featured familiar vocal talent and the stories weren’t half bad. They were successful enough that their thirty or so releases were repackaged time and again, eventually eschewing vinyl for cassette tapes to retain the audience.

A new Superman number one issue? Oh, go on then. One with a connection to the fabled Crisis on Infinite Earths? Definitely go on then. Mark Russell writing and Mike Allred drawing? You had me at Superman. This book genuinely intrigued me when I saw it announced. Nice to have something a little different, a little risky. Superman can be many things, the focus of many different kinds of stories, and this book promises to embrace that principle.
Let’s take a look.
1985, a momentous year in DC history. The year of the Crisis. Superman, a pre-Crisis Superman (The pre-Crisis Superman?) returns to Lois and Jonathan as the world dies. We are, however, getting ahead of ourselves. Let’s travel back to 1963 Smallville, and a young Clark is growing up on the Kent Smallville farm, already a budding...

Doom Patrol: Weight of the Worlds #3 is a hard boiled detective story...in the way only the Doom Patrol could deliver it.
A good adaptation will make you reexamine (or reevaluate) the source material. This is why Doom Patrol will endure as a great TV show. It revelled in its comic book-iness in a way that no other comics TV show would ever dare, and amplified the things about the comics that made them so unique. Gerard Way, Jeremy Lambert and Nick Derington have been turning that comics-uniqueness up in Doom Patrol: Weight of the Worlds, the Young Animal return for the series, and in this exclusive preview, Steve Orlando and Evan “Doc” Shaner step in to add to it.
Steve Orlando is quietly one of the best writers in the business and definitely one of the best things DC has going for it right now.

The reputation of the Zack Snyder Cut of 2017’s Justice League has gained near mythological proportions. Long before studio interference and Joss Whedon’s reshuffle, it conjured imagery of a film to rival Avengers: Infinity War: an untampered with and pure version of Snyder’s original vision for the band of heroes formerly known as the Justice League of America. In short, a good movie.
The trouble is, the above version of an untampered with Justice League does not exist. There was already studio strong-arming tactics taking place long before Snyder removed himself from the project, with 30 minutes being butchered from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, leaving a lackluster theatrical cut and a far superior Ultimate Edition on home video release.
Soon afterwards, Justice League Part 1 was whittled down to simply become Justice League, resulting in a two movie arc being compressed into a single film. And all...

Legends Of Tomorrow ended its first season with a big ol’ hint of things to come. With spoilers, here’s what it meant...
This article contains spoilers for Legends Of Tomorrow’s season 1 finale, as well as revealing Zoom from The Flash’s secret identity.
Vandal Savage is dead; murdered at three different points in time. (Even some serious ashes-tampering by Malcolm Merlyn surely couldn’t undo that... could it?) But the story of Rip Hunter and The Waverider crew - now sans Kendra and Carter - is far from finished.
Legends Of Tomorrow will return for a second season as part of The CW’s fall 2016-2017 line up. As such, season 1 ended with a standard-issue tease of things to come. Shortly after Dominic Purcell’s Mick mentioned being hungry for chicken and the gang began wandering away, another Waverider crash landed from the sky in a big puff of smoke.

With comic book adaptations on almost every channel and streaming service, fans will meet many new characters with extensive backstories. We’re here to introduce these characters to help lessen the learning curve.
Arrow and The Flash are crossing over again to do some heavy lifting for Legends of Tomorrow, but that could be said about both shows’ earliest episodes this season. Not only will “Legends of Today” and “Legends of Yesterday” give everyone a look at Hawkman and Hawkgirl, they’ll also introduce the spinoff’s villain: Vandal Savage.
Vandal is one DC’s most enduring and formidable villains, appearing as an antagonist since 1944 when he was created by Alfred Bester and Martin Nodell. The character is an immortal who’s terrorized civilizations throughout history, claiming to have either been or collaborated with figures like Julius Caesar and Genghis Khan.
After being exposed to a meteorite as a caveman,...

Here’s what gets me about Wonder Woman.
She is, rightfully, symbolic of strong women who can take care of themselves, stand up for themselves, and help others – men and women alike – do the same. These are very good things. She started out before America entered World War II, so you can’t really attribute “Rosie the Riveter” juju to her origins: she was created at a time when most strong women were to be found in movies, and by then almost always in front of the camera and not behind it.
To be sure, there were plenty of other women super-heroes in comics. Some were spin-offs or sidekicks to male superheroes – Mary Marvel, Bulletgirl and the original Hawkgirl come to mind – but others were stand-alone creations: the original Black Widow (1940), Phantom Lady (1941), the original Black Cat (1942), Liberty Belle (1943), and my personal favorite, Miss Fury (1941), the only one of the bunch that was created,...

In the right hands, comic book movies are the pinnacle of blockbuster entertainment and, despite the grumbles of naysayers, it looks like this trend isn’t ending anytime soon. A quick glance at the most anticipated movies of the coming years is a who’s who of graphic novels. However, superhero movies haven’t always been this awesome…
Back in 1997, a younger version of me remembers being genuinely thrilled when the world’s tackiest Justice League Of America film premiered on TV. It’s impossible to imagine now, but in a year when Batman & Robin was the most successful comic book movie, even something as shoddy as that was cause for excitement.
Fortunately, we’ve come a looong way since then, but even the best comic book films contain vestiges of this shameful past. While we’re no longer subjected to Bat-Nipples and the like, no superhero movie is perfect,...

A Reddit user that was touring Cartoon Network took this picture of some of their new show posters and a Jla poster was included. This is clearly not for the Bruce Timm Justice League or Justice League Unlimited shows, as their names were never presented as the Jla. There was a Jla: Trapped in Time direct to DVD feature last year, but that doesn't appear to be related.
It shouldn't come as a shock to fans that a new Jla (Justice League of America) cartoon is in the works over at Cartoon Network. After all, the DC Comics cinematic universe includes an upcoming Justice League film, and lets face it Batman v Superman may as well be a Justice League trial run at this point.
Details on cast and crew are not yet available. Legions of Gotham will continue to dig with our sources and report any updates as they are revealed!

Justice League of America #1
Written and penciled by Bryan Hitch
Inked by Daniel Henriques, Wade von Grawbadger, Andrew Currie
Colored by Alex Sinclair, Jeromy Cox
Published by DC Comics
Bryan Hitch’s trademark widescreen art style was built for stories with powerful, godlike characters like Jla #1. With the help of three inkers, his figures are detailed, yet expressive, and colorists Alex Sinclair and Jeromy Cox give the explosions, speed force crackles, and power ring flashes the digital sheen they deserve. Hitch has taken a page out of Grant Morrison’s epic run on Jla in the late 90s and given the Justice League of America a multiverse spanning threat to face in the long run that is integral to Superman’s mythos and legacy. In fact, Hitch opens the book with a potent double page spread of Earth exploding while a bleeding Superman floats in space before beginning his story proper.

The More Obvious Easter Eggs: 1) Carlos Valdes = Cisco Ramon = Vibe Vibe's sonic powers enabled him to create shock waves of considerable strength. His power could shatter concrete or steel. His agility was above average (and he was a superb breakdancer). Under Batman's tutelage, Vibe became a more skilled combatant. Vibe's reintroduction in 2013 has sought to establish him as a more powerful character. Part of this was redefining his powers as having to do with interdimensional physics. Justice League of America establishes that Vibe's sonic waves have the power to disrupt the Speed Force, making him one of few characters in the DC Universe who poses a serious threat to the Flash. For this reason, he is recruited into the Jla by Steve Trevor, which exists to guard against the threat of the main Justice League going rogue. In Justice League of America's Vibe #3, Amanda Waller says "Cisco Ramon might...

This November, award-winning publisher Boom! Studios and Twentieth Century Consumer Products are pleased to announce they will launch Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, a new comic book limited series based on the new film from 20th Century Fox.
Written by Michael Moreci (Curse, Hoax Hunters), the six-issue series bridges the 10-year gap between the Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apesfilms, chronicling the fall of humanity and the rise of Caesar’s ape civilization. Additional creative team details will be revealed at a later date. While the apes of the world have yet to advance as a species, Caesar (portrayed by Andy Serkis in the films) must find a way to unify them to one cause. Batman Arkham Knight is Rocksteady Studios final hurrah into the world of DC headliner Batman. For those fans who prefer their heroes a little darker than your average Superman, and your games based around those heroes actually playable, Batman is the perfect choice. (Although a Justice League Of America game could be fantastic, if it was made to a high standard.)
As Batman Arkham Knight has already been confirmed as Rocksteady Studios final Batman game in their acclaimed Arkham series, it seems that they have pulled out all the stops to make absolutely certain that this game is the defining Batman game for many, many years to come. With that clear ambition comes a hell of a lot of hype too, and to make sure that Rocksteady Studios makes the game they need to make, they’ve been pulling in the finest talent from around the industry (in terms...

Meet Oliver Queen’s new mentor. Sin City’s Devon Aoki is joining the third season of Arrow in the recurring role of Tatsu Yamashiro, known to comic-book readers as the sword-wielding Japanese hero Katana.

When Grant Morrison tried to retrofit the Justice League of America so they more closely resembled the Greek pantheon of gods, it wasn’t without precedent. And not just because of Wonder Woman, who basically is a Greek goddess; a significant portion of DC’s heroes and villains alike have power sets that border on the mythical, far beyond the imaginations of mortal men, to the point where most of the characters are borderline indestructible. There’s also a frightening number of individuals who have the power to control reality, but let’s not talk about Dan Didio.
It’s one of the major criticisms that gets thrown at DC characters, and Superman especially – if these characters can’t be killed, or harmed in any real way, where’s the drama? What are the stakes? Which is a total fanboy fallacy, since we’ve had decades of entertaining Superman stories,...

And with Justice League of America, it begins. The WB is going to start expanding the DC wing of its considerable media library, a way of offsetting a recent downturn in profit and the loss of the Harry Potter movies. The vast collection of characters are ready to be set loose following Batman vs. Superman and Justice League of America, but just in what aspect? The Wall Street Journal broke the news of the latest superhero team-up, and now they're revealing exactly how the company will act moving forward. And thus far, the claim is that Justice League will lead nine more movies into active development. What this means might not be much; not all of those nine films will be made, and some will be replaced by other film ideas in the pipeline for DC and the WB. Justice League of America is potentially three years away, at best,...

It’s possible you’ve heard about the superhero comic book series The 99. According to the Grand Comics Database, it ran for a total of 19 issues between 2007 and 2011, plus a six-issue mini-series crossover with the Justice League of America.
Despite its professional credits and its careful design, it was unsurprisingly clear that here in the United States a series about Muslim superheroes who derived their team name from the 99 names for Allah would be a tough sell. Even Superman and Batman couldn’t help. PBS did a documentary, and it was cover-featured in Newsweek – back when Newsweek actually had covers. President Barack Obama, a former comics reader himself, praised the series: “His comic books have captured the imaginations of so many young people with superheroes who embody the teachings and tolerance of Islam.”

According to Kevin Tsujihara, Warner Bros. CEO, the studio will take a more 'aggressive' approach to bringing the DC Comics universe to the screen, with "...a film series to be announced.." and "...it is expected to include a 'Justice League' movie..."
Debuting in DC Comics' "The Brave and the Bold" #28 (February/March 1960), the "Justice League" originally featured 'Superman', 'Batman', 'Wonder Woman', 'Flash' ('Barry Allen'), 'Green Lantern' ('Hal Jordan'), 'Aquaman' ('Arthur Curry') and 'Martian Manhunter'.
The team roster has been rotated throughout the years with characters including 'Green Arrow', 'Captain Marvel', 'Black Canary', the 'Atom', 'Hawkman', 'Elongated Man', 'Red Tornado', 'Firestorm', 'Zatanna', 'Hawkgirl', 'Cyborg', 'Vixen' and a whole lot more.
Sidekicks including 'Supergirl', 'Robin', 'Aquagirl' and 'Speedy' were also included when the team received its own comic book title October 1960, publishing for 27 years.

(Cbr) Any episode of a DC television show titled "Birds of Prey" is going to come under incredible scrutiny. After all, that’s the name of one of DC’s longest-lived – and most beloved – ongoing female-lead series. Since most comic book movies still don’t pass the Bechdel test, fans are more than eager to see female interactions that don’t hinge upon their male co-stars in television shows and movies. Now that Arrow has come close to introducing Huntress and Black Canary’s storied partnership on TV, we have five other female partnerships that we want to see make the transition from the page to the screen. Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy This dynamic duo starred in one of the most endearing and enduring episodes of "Batman: The Animated Series,” as it depicted DC’s Thelma and Louise painting Gotham red. Harley’s already had an Easter egg appearance in "Arrow,...

Last year Jeff Lemire announced that he had created a new character for his new Justice League United series - a teenage Cree girl from James Bay based, in part, on late activist Shannen Koostachin. This character was absent from the first Justice League United #1 cover by Gene Ha, but here she is on the new version of that cover which was taken from a Previews Magazine. Thanks to DC Women Kicking Ass for the spot. A bit of diversity is always welcome..but a name would be nice! Anyway, whatever we'll end up callng her, she'll be joining the likes of Martian Manhunter, Adam Strange, Stargirl, Supergirl, Green Arrow and Animal Man (with more Tba) in the new series which will replace Justice League of America after it finishes up in April.

Sneak Peek images from the "Arrow" episode "Time Of Death", featuring a sneak peek @ DC Comics' superhero 'Blue Devil" as part of a movie banner showcased on the side of a bus :
"...'Daniel Patrick Cassidy' is a special effects wizard and stuntman hired to create and play the title character in the movie 'Blue Devil'.
"To that end Cassidy creates a full-body costume with a hidden powered exoskeleton and built-in special-effects devices.
"When two of his co-stars accidentally free a demon named 'Nebiros', Cassidy uses his costume to drive the demon back, but not before being blasted with mystical energy.
"After the fight, Cassidy finds that the blast has permanently grafted the Blue Devil costume to his body.
"Cassidy quickly finds himself embroiled in repeated adventures and conflicts with super-villains.
"After failing to find a way to remove his costume, Cassidy starts to enjoy his new lifestyle,...
