Gordon Ramsay’s hit reality TV show “MasterChef” was given the spin-off treatment in 2013 when an all-kids version, dubbed “MasterChef Junior,” debuted on the Fox network. Young chefs with a dream of cooking for a living were allowed to compete on the reality TV show as long as they were between the eligible ages of 8-13. The first-ever champion was Alexander Weiss (age 13), who beat out a dozen others to claim the trophy and the $100,000 cash prize. If you need a refresher on all of the “MasterChef Junior” winners now, scroll through our photo gallery below.
Besides Ramsay, other judges to call the shots on the competition series have included Graham Elliot, Joe Bastianich, Aaron Sanchez, Christina Tosi, Daphne Oz and Tilly Ramsay. Initially people were concerned that Ramsay’s penchant for throwing out F-bombs on shows like “MasterChef” and “Hell’s Kitchen” would be a problem on “Junior,” but...

Danny DeVito is opening up about plans for his new movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
“We really want to work together and we’ve been talking about it for quite a while,” DeVito said to Et on the red carpet for Poolman. “We’re onto something now, we have a script being written.”
He wouldn’t give details on whether the project will be a sequel to any of their previous collaborations, Twins or 1994’s Junior — but said that they already have a major studio behind them.
“As soon as that comes in, we’ll know better. But we’ll do it at Warner Brothers, so there you go,” DeVito said.
The Schwarzenegger/DeVito chemistry is a proven commodity.
“He’s a good buddy, you know? He’s just a good pal. So you know, and we go together, kind of. We fit, right?” he said.
Reunions of the two are gaining steam.

The Beatles make an appearance in Doctor Who’s new series – but not with the costly music. Russell T Davies explains more.
The second episode in the new series of Doctor Who – which the BBC and Disney+ seems to be banding, as teased, as season one – sees Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor and Millie Gibson’s Ruby in London in the 1960s. Revealing only what’s been giving away in the promotion for the episode, the Doctor and Ruby find themselves at Abbey Road Studios for an encounter with The Beatles.
Russell T Davies talked about the inspiration for the episode in question, entitled The Devil’s Chord, at the launch for the new series in London last week. The Devil’s Chord, he revealed, came from a conversation he’d had with a director by the name of Sam Arbo.

The BBC sitcom Terry & June is available to stream unedited in full, but a warning at the start of it has left one MP demanding his country back.
Starring June Whitfield and Terry Scott, the BBC sitcom Terry & June was a big hit for the corporation, particularly in the 1980s. It debuted in 1979, ran through until 1987, and the show has been made available to stream in full via the BritBox service.
To the best of my knowledge, not a single frame of the show has been edited or altered. In spite of if being a programme very much of its time, the decision has been made to leave the material in tact, and instead just add a warning at the start.
This seems a decent way of doing things. Retrospectively censoring material to modern sensitivities is a dangerous and evolving path. Letting people wander unwarned into family-targeted viewing...

It seems Disney and Ludo Studios have one more trick up their sleeve. Everyone thought the 28-minute “The Sign” special was the final “Bluey” episode before the studio put it on hiatus. But now, one more episode, “Surprise,” will debut tomorrow, April 21.

Disney merged with Fox in 2019. Since then, most of the more adult-oriented Fox shows and movies went onto Hulu while the more family-friendly offerings went onto Disney+. However, more recently, the streaming service merged with Hulu, and people subscribed to both can see everything on the app. This means there are some shows available that some parents remain concerned with.
One of the more controversial additions has shown up on the main screen as an option to advertise the Hulu merging, and parents are protesting.
Parents Not Happy About New Disney+ Addition
After the Fox acquisition, this brought in a lot of shows and movies that might not be what people think of when they consider the Mouse House. Movies like Alien and TV shows like Archer and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia found a home on Hulu. Now, fans can see these shows, and more, on the Disney+ streaming service.

Hollywood stars Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger will be seen reuniting on screen after 35 years after the 1998 film ‘Twins’. DeVito has confirmed a new project is in the works with Schwarzenegger, reports people.com.
“We’re working on something, a project that we’re going to do together, another movie,” DeVito told CNN.
Of his bond with the bodybuilder-actor-politician, he shared that their friendship predated the 1988 comedy about an unlikely pair of brothers.
“Arnold and I are good buddies. We met way before ‘Twins’, years ago. We get along really well,” added DeVito, who also featured with the ‘Terminator’ star in the 1994 comedy ‘Junior’ with Emma Thompson.
The ‘Matilda’ star first teased a potential reunion with Schwarzenegger in November.

The Academy’s decision to give the Live Action Short Oscar to a star-laden Wes Anderson film has raised eyebrows…
On Sunday, Wes Anderson picked up his first Academy Awards for The Wonderful Story Of Henry Sugar. It won the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film, a category that’s traditionally rewarded independent films, rather than Netflix-backed Roald Dahl adaptation with a major film director behind it.
The Live Action Short film category is attracting more and more high profile names to it, and there’s a real risk that’s squeezing out independent filmmakers from a genuine shot at Oscar gold.
None of this is a slight on Wes Anderson, and genuine congratulations to him on his long-overdue first Oscar.
Still, we’ve been contacted by a few independent filmmakers about the message it sounds out. The following words have been penned by Dan Turner, a British...

A disaster horror comedy that’s equal parts Can’t Hardly Wait and Idle Hands, Kyle Mooney’s directorial debut Y2K is often hilariously sincere in its depiction of social and technological anxieties from the tail end of 1999. Mooney remembers all too well a world where promises of connectivity had not quite caught up with the technology. For those that were not ’90s kids, your mileage may vary and the premise of Y2K might seem confounding: why would a computer system rolling back the clock to 1900 be an issue?
Of course, the anxiety was very real––as documented in Brian Becker and Marley McDonald’s recent HBO documentary Time Bomb Y2K and in stickers from Best Buy telling consumers to shut their computer off before the clock strikes midnight. Mooney’s version bursts with the absurd creativity of a teenager sketching out a wild comic book scenario with...

From the widespread fear that the repeal of Net Neutrality would eventually force us to pay a dollar for every Google search to the misguided belief that Matt Patricia would turn the Detroit Lions into an equally fearsome version of Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots dynasty, recent human history is filled with incorrect predictions and wild overreactions. But few false alarms rang louder than the Y2K frenzy, in which much of the world spent 1999 panicking that the new millennium would cause the technology that powered our society to instantly stop working once years started with 20 instead of 19. The fear was grounded in some semblance of reality, but any potential catastrophe was averted when the world’s top computer programmers worked together to resolve the problem before we closed the book on the 20th century.
But if the only lasting legacy of Y2K is the inspiration it provided...

One of the most peculiar yet beloved duos that Hollywood gifted its audiences was Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito. Their antics in Twins had audiences roaring for more, making them truly iconic. But it wasn’t just their on-screen chemistry that had fans hooked. Off-screen, these two were peas in a pod, sharing laughs and mischief alike. And in a moment of pure chaos, the internet’s darling, Danny DeVito, pulled off an epic prank on none other than Schwarzenegger himself, leaving everyone in stitches and cementing their friendship for eternity.

The Superb Owl is more than just a big sports event. It is a time to relish in spectacle, be it a half-time music show where SpongeBob makes jokes about Leonardo DiCaprio, Netflix potentially releasing a previously unknown movie all of a sudden, and, of course, flashy trailers and big commercials galore.
One of the biggest commercials of this year's Super Bowl reunited Arnold Schwarzenegger with his "Twins" and "Junior" co-star Danny DeVito to promote State Farm Insurance. The ad shows Schwarzenegger shooting a film within a film, a commercial for State Farm wherein the former governor of California rushes out of a burning house while rescuing two dogs. Then a director yells cut and consistently chastises Arnold for the way he pronounces the word "neighbor" with his Austrian accent. The solution? Hire DeVito to co-star in the ad and correct Schwarzenegger's pronunciation.

Super Bowl commercials aren't just movie trailers -- it's also the time of year when far less flashy brands pay the big bucks to get stars in their ads, ones that all of America will see. Sometimes, those ads can get pretty wild.
This year, we got one from State Farm Insurance featuring the talents of former bodybuilder and Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger (who's also starred in a few movies you may have heard of). The ad is titled "Like A Good Neighbaaa," referencing both State Farm's company slogan and Arnold's famous Austrian accent. And that pronunciation difference is the keystone of the ad.
Arnold, in a red State Farm shirt, rushes out of a burning house (which explodes behind him) carrying two dogs to safety. "Agent State Farm" is initially shown only from the shoulders down, but his face is revealed once he recites the company slogan.

Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger has shared a photo on his Instagram posing with his ‘Twins’ co-star Danny DeVito, 79, and DeVito’s daughter Lucy DeVito, 40, on the set of their Broadway play ‘I Need That’.
“My brother! It was fantastic to see Danny on Broadway in ‘I Need That’,” Schwarzenegger wrote in a caption to the photo, reports People magazine.
Arnold further mentioned: “He and Lucy and everybody involved kept the audience entertained, laughing and loving every minute – one of the best plays I’ve ever seen, a true spectacle with heart!! I can’t wait to work together again.”
Schwarzenegger and DeVito famously co-starred in 1988’s ‘Twins’, a buddy comedy that centred around the pair as genetically engineered fraternal twins separated at birth.
The movie grossed $111 million at the domestic box office upon its release and was the fifth highest-grossing film released that year, per Box Office Mojo.

Muppet Babies is one of the rare 1980s animated shows that are not available to stream, and Jim Henson cartoonist Guy Gilchrist is revealing why.
During a recent appearance at L.A. Comic Con, Gilchrist gave some answers as to why the Muppet Babies was not available to stream on any of the digital platforms.
Gilchrist said it comes down to “copyrights and trademarks” as the reason why the show has not been able to get into a streaming service. The cartoonist said in an interview with Dennis Does LA that back in the 80s, there was “camaraderie” between the studios, something that doesn’t exist today amid the big corporate takeovers.
“Besides using the stuff that was in the public domain, like the silent stuff that we used in the dream sequences… Remember, the editing on that was incredibly wonderful. We used a lot of film clips from a lot of different things,...

The 2nd annual Children’s & Family Emmys got underway on Saturday night, starting with the Children’s & Family Creative Arts Emmys at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. According to early results — pending final tallies — Disney+ and Netflix tied the lead with nine wins overall.
The most honored program of the evening was actually Netflix’s “Lost Ollie,” which scored five trophies. Disney+’s wins included multiple awards for “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special” and animated series “Baymax!” Nickelodeon picked up five wins.
And it was also a good night for Disney via its linear Disney Channel, which picked up four wins.
Presenters included Tamara Almeida (“Jane”), Ceci Balagot (“Monster High: The Movie”), Eric Bauza (voice of Bugs Bunny and others), Tantoo Cardinal (“Spirit Rangers”), Nayah Damasen (“Monster High: The Movie”), Miia Harris (“Monster High: The Movie”), Sonia Manzano (“Alma’s Way”), Ava Louise Murchison (“Jane”), and...

I wouldn’t be lying if I said, “I hate reality TV.” It’s something I absolutely do not gravitate towards. In fact, I’m appalled by the idea altogether, so imagine my plight when I was told I’d be covering Korea’s hottest reality dating show, Single’s Inferno (big emphasis on the “dating” there). I suppose I don’t hate all reality TV; fashion and food contests have a special leeway, and somehow it seems both of these things are very well represented in this show. Maybe not so much fashion, but my first impression of the show, which is already in its 3rd season, was that this is like watching a Mukbang video rather than reality TV, something I actually quite enjoy. No, do not think this means I’ve changed my mind; it just means I don’t want to turn off Netflix within about 5 seconds of starting the show.

The Black Phone 2 is confirmed for release in the summer of 2025, with the original creatives returning for the new film.
Director Scott Derrickson came to box office prominence in particular through his success in horror cinema, with the film Sinister notably. That then got him onto the Marvel payroll, with Doctor Strange, before ultimately declining the opportunity to return for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. Sam Raimi took that particular job on instead, to middling results.
Instead, Scott Derrickson focused on making a horror movie, the box office success The Black Phone, that gave a meaty role to Ethan Hawke amongst its many qualities. It’s been known for a little while now that there were plans for a follow up to the movie, and now comes the confirmation of The Black Phone 2.

Michael Keaton’s second film as director, Knox Goes Away, is heading to cinemas in 2024. More details here.
He’s been having fun of late in front of the camera, not least his cameo in this year’s The Flash, where he reprised the role of Batman. But Michael Keaton has also taken the opportunity to return to directing.
He first scratched the itch in 2008 with The Merry Gentleman. Now though, he’s wrapped filming on his latest film as director, which goes by the name of Knox Goes Away.
Keaton takes on the role of John Knox in the film, as well as stepping behind the camera. He’s attracted a good cast too, with Al Pacino, James Marsden and Marcia Gay Harden amongst the ensemble. The script has been penned by Gregory Poirier, who previously turned his hand to the likes of National Treasure: Book Of Secrets and...

[The following story contains spoilers from Foe.]
In Garth Davis’ new genre mashup, Foe, the future of the planet — and a relationship — hinges, in part, on the possibilities around artificial intelligence in response to climate change.
The Amazon Studios film, which is set to release globally on Oct. 6, is based on author and co-writer Iain Reid’s 2018 novel of the same name. Set in the near, climate-devastated future, one couple living on a remote farm becomes a test subject for humanity’s survival.
The book has garnered a wide range of genre descriptors — psychological thriller, horror, science fiction, to name a few — and the film aims to live in each one, sometimes simultaneously. Yet, for writer-director Davis, who spoke about the making of the film in a post-screening discussion at the 2023 New York Film Festival, he not only found “the book completely compelling in its mystery” but was ultimately attracted to the relationship between Saoirse Ronan...

Vance Walker finally claimed victory as the next “American Ninja Warrior” during Monday’s Season 15 finale, but the journey to winning certainly caused him a fair amount of grief.

While Walker finished his climb with the best performance so far with 3.25 seconds to spare in the 30-second challenge, the 18-year-old finalist had to wait to claim victory until seeing if Caleb Bergstrom and Rj Roman beat his time.

Archer‘s 14th and final season had just premiered the night before on Fxx when on Aug. 31 all Disney cable networks, as well as the ABC owned-and-operated stations, went dark on Charter’s Spectrum cable system. Ten days and one new episode of Archer later, the bitter carriage dispute was resolved but Fxx was not restored on Spectrum.
That is because, in exchange for getting wide distribution for its ad-supported Disney+ service, Disney made a concession on the linear side. Eight cable networks, including Fxx, Fxm, Freeform, Disney Junior, Disney Xd and Nat Geo Wild, are being dropped from Spectrum, the No.2 cable operator in the U.S. with 14.7 million customers, with each net losing close to 20% of their reach.

Disney CEO Bob Iger’s bombshell July comments that the linear TV business “may not be core” to the company brought a lot of anxiety for those working at any of the Disney’s linear networks.
There was more reason for concern this morning when Disney and Charter announced a new agreement after 10 days of carriage disruption on the Spectrum cable systems. As part of the deal, eight Disney networks, including Fxx, Fxm, Freeform, Disney Junior, Disney Xd and Nat Geo Wild, are being dropped — probably the biggest such exclusion of established cable nets in a carriage negotiation — with Disney getting wide distribution for its ad-supported Disney+ Basic service on Spectrum as well as improved terms for the ESPN suite of networks.
The news raises further questions about the viability of the eight networks, which are losing almost 20% of their distribution overnight amid industry-wide shift from linear to streaming. In an internal memo,...

Warning: contains spoilers for Starstruck series two.
There’s a good reason that Jane Austen novels and Shakespeare comedies end with weddings; they’re where romance ends. Everything after the cheese course and ‘New York, New York’ is pretty much admin and social work, and who’d document that?
Weddings are the end of the rom-com hunt, where the dripping pelt of your kill is pegged out to be admired by your Aunty Sandra and your least worst work colleagues. Next up: making a will and maybe a child, optional divorce and, less-optional, death.
After the series two finale of Starstruck, the BBC rom-com series created by comedian, actor, and soon-to-be host of Junior Taskmaster Rose Matafeo, a wedding seems like the logical next step. Jessie (Matafeo) and Tom (Nikesh Patel) have spent two series falling for each other and messing stuff up before things culminate in a big romantic declaration in a London pond.
