Kelsey Grammer doesn’t have any plans for any of the Cheers characters to pop up in the new Frasier sitcom. However, the actor who plays Dr. Frasier Crane does think that Diane Chambers, played by Shelley Long, deserves some closure.
“I would like to see Diane come back,” Grammer said on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “For one of those reasons of Frasier to be able to put something to bed. To end up with a nice thing between them.”
He continued, “When I first got the role, the key to Frasier for me was that he loved her with his whole heart, that he loved with all of his being. And that actually defined who he is and he’s been that way ever since. He just goes in wholeheartedly with everything — and that’s what makes him funny.”

The Cotton franchise goes back 30 years and has appeared on many early consoles and computers including PC Engine, Neo Geo Pocket Color, right through to the early days of the original PlayStation. And throughout the years Cotton has received acclaim for its fast action, its colourful and detailed presentation and its cast – especially its endearing cute central character, the young witch Cotton and her little helper fairy! However, Cotton – as a franchise – had, until fairly recently, been quiet for some time since, at least in the West. That changed last year with the release of Cotton Reboot and now comes a new iteration, Cotton Fantasy.
Cotton Fantasy sees Cotton and Silk embark on another adventure, once again in HD, as per Reboot. The game adds several new shoot ’em up mechanics to the iconic Cotton playstyle, providing a modern gameplay experience, more precise than ever. Featuring 6 iconic playable characters, 16 colourful and varied scrolling stages,...

No more pencils, no more books. No more Saved By The Bell, either, as the rebooted sitcom’s cancellation by Peacock is now in effect.
It comes only a month after the comedy won Outstanding Comedy Series at the GLAAD Media Awards. It’s also something of a surprise, in that the first season of the show reportedly did well for the streamer. The reboot featured a new class of kids at Bayside High and the return of series originals Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Thiessen, Elizabeth Berkley, Mario Lopez and Lark Voorhies, who was a guest star in a season one episode.
So far, only Gosselaar has taken to social media to express his views on the cancellation. We’ll update as more come in.
So disappointed by this news. So many talented individuals in all departments creating something original from a reboot. Respect and admiration to everyone involved and thanks to the viewers.

Hulu has ordered a new original scripted series, and in an extra-meta turn of events, it's called "Reboot." We've learned via press release that the series, which we first heard about back in August, is also adding prolific actress Judy Greer to the cast.
Greer will join Keegan-Michael Key and Johnny Knoxville in the comedy series, which follows — no joke — the cast of an early 2000s sitcom that's forced to reunite when Hulu orders a reboot of the show. To be clear, "Reboot" isn't a Hulu reboot, but a Hulu show about a fake Hulu reboot. The cast...

Hulu has picked up the comedy series “Reboot” from creator Steve Levitan, Variety has learned.
The show was originally ordered to pilot at Hulu back in August. Keegan-Michael Key and Johnny Knoxville lead the cast along with Judy Greer, who joins in the role played in the pilot by Leslie Bibb.
“After working thirty years in TV comedy, this is both my love letter to sitcoms and, if I’m being honest, much-needed therapy,” Levitan said.
Steeped in the irony of the television’s industry continuing inclination to reboot hit shows from the past, the series begins when Hulu reboots an early 2000’s family sitcom, forcing its dysfunctional cast is back together. Now they must deal with their unresolved issues in today’s fast-changing world.

“Schmigadoon!” star Keegan-Michael Key and “Jackass” alum Johnny Knoxville are set to star on “Modern Family” co-creator Steve Levitan’s Hulu comedy pilot “Reboot,” TheWrap has learned.
Created by Levitan, “Reboot” — which is inspired by the TV industry’s recent slew of comedy revivals — centers on the story of Hulu rebooting an early 2000’s family sitcom, and how its dysfunctional cast is forced back together and now must deal with their unresolved issues in today’s fast-changing world.
Levitan and John Enbom (“iZombie”) co-wrote the pilot script for the potential series based on a story by the “Modern Family” creator. Levitan and Enbom will executive produce alongside Danielle Stokdyk. Levitan’s home studio, 20th Television, is producing the pilot.

Kevin Smith may be an accomplished filmmaker in his own right having spent the last quarter of a century building his own personal brand through the View Askewniverse and his later detours into bizarre horror, but he’s always been a huge geek first and foremost. The man lives and breathes pop culture, and isn’t shy when it comes to letting his opinions be known.
Of course, the 50 year-old is also prone to the odd spot of hyperbole, and at various points admitted that he was brought to tears by Transformers spinoff Bumblebee, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Bill & Ted Face the Music. Not a lot of people shared that sentiment about any of those three movies, but the guy certainly wears his heart on his sleeve.

Before “The Bachelor,” “Dancing With the Stars,” “American Idol” or any of the other network competition shows, there was “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.” The game show was an immediate smash when it premiered in 1999, and was a precursor to the modern unscripted boom.
Soon, “Millionaire” was a regular part of the ABC schedule, attracting up to 30 million viewers and helping skyrocket the Alphabet network to No. 1. But the execs there got greedy, airing “Millionaire” as many as five nights a week. Audiences quickly burned out and by 2002, the primetime edition was canceled. “Millionaire” returned for ABC specials in 2004 and 2009, and lived on in a syndicated daytime version until last year.
Now, with the daytime version out of the way, original executive producer Michael Davies — who first brought the U.K. format to America as an ABC exec — believes the timing is right to reintroduce audiences to “Millionaire.” He even recruited Jimmy Kimmel,...

My second occasion using Rakuten TV to rent a movie was with this flick, a flick I’ve been anticipating since it was first announced and caused me to actually write a whole “Road to Reboot” series here on Nerdly. Rakuten TV is so simple to use, so streamlined and easy, that it was cool to just jump onto the website and rent the film I wanted with just a few clicks. It’s become pretty clear in recent months that Universal is now rethinking their approach to rebooting their classic monsters. And you can’t blame them for going back to the drawing board after the whole Dark Universe debacle. After all, production troubles plagued The Mummy, which despite holding a lot of potential, turned out to be a dud and pretty much killed the studio’s attempt at building a cinematic universe right from the start.
But like DC and Warner Bros., Universal is now heading in a more standalone direction, with The Invisible Man set to be the first one of their monster movies to take this approach. If you’ll recall, the original version had Johnny Depp attached to star, but when Blumhouse took over producing duties, they wiped the slate clean and now we’ve got Elisabeth Moss and Oliver Jackson-Cohen in the lead roles. And with...

Anne Hathaway and Ben Affleck headline a stacked cast in Netflix movie The Last Thing He Wanted.
The Last Thing He Wanted is yet another high-profile film nabbed by streaming giant Netflix for exclusive consumption on its platform.
Brandishing a headlining duo of Anne Hathaway and Ben Affleck, The Last Thing He Wanted is a historically-set drama that adapts the 1996 novel of the same name by Joan Didion, which, set in 1984, depicts the ordeal of a reporter (Hathaway) who – during the course of investigating the arming of the Contras – becomes placed in a most perilous position when the guilt-motivated task of visiting for her grieving father (Willem Dafoe) leads her to discover his role as a U.S.-backed arms dealer based in Central America.
Dee Rees directed the film, working off an adaptation screenplay she co-wrote with Marco Villalobos.

Who would’ve thought a reboot of Kevin Smith’s 2001 (really? Eighteen years ago?) stoner comedy Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back would have been such a resounding success? In fact, it even beat out Avengers: Endgame in one particular box office record, making more on average per screen in its opening week than the McU film did. And pretty soon, you’ll be able to own your own copy as well, as we’re getting word that fans can now pre-order the movie on Blu-ray and DVD.
According to Legion M – which helped finance the pic – Jay And Silent Bob Reboot will be officially released on home video on January 21st, 2020, which is great and all because there isn’t long to wait, but it does mean that there’s no chance of it being a Christmas gift. And that’s certainly a shame.

Archie Yates, Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney will star in Disney Plus’ “Home Alone” reboot.
Dan Mazer is on board to direct the film from a script by Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell.
Sources say Yates will not be playing the iconic Kevin McCallister, but a new character in a similar premise to the original franchise. In the original 1990 film, Kevin, played by Macaulay Culkin, is accidentally left behind while his family heads to Paris over the holidays. During that time, he must protect his house from a pair of burglars, portrayed by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern.
Though originally thought to be Yates’ parents, sources now say Kemper and Delaney will be playing someone else in the film, possibly another couple not related to Yates.
The first movie was a major hit, grossing $476.7 million worldwide, including $285.8 million domestically, leading to the 1992 sequel “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,...

HBO Max is adapting DC/Vertigo comic book series Dmz as a television pilot, setting Ava DuVernay to direct the pilot.
Dmz, the cynically-prophesizing DC Comics-published Vertigo title depicting a United States left literally divided after a second Civil War, is the next comic book-inspired small screen project embraced by HBO. Indeed, the premium cable channel has brought in a prominent name in Ava DuVernay – who happens to have her hands full with DC film adaptation The New Gods – to direct the pilot.
There's certainly an intriguing and potentially controversial Civil War premise with this project; politically-charged peril that HBO recently opted to avoid by officially cancelling Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss's long-stalled TV project, Confederate, which carried similar themes of an alternate universe in which America has experienced a second Civil War. HBO's retention of this project, however, seems to...

“I’m a ghost on the radio,” sings Jon Pardi in “Call Me Country,” a swaying, steel-drenched track that arrives near the end of his new album Heartache Medication. Name-checking his country-music heroes like Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Merle Haggard, the California native places himself in the same lineage — both as preservationist and rule-breaker. Freight trains, prisons, honk-tonks, and cowboys are all here, lamented as relics. “They used to call me country,” Pardi concludes, upholding one tradition even as he weeps for its loss.

Kevin Smith knows some people think his movies “went to shit” over the last decade. The writer-director was one of the success stories of the 1990s American indie film boom thanks to his debut “Clerks” and follow-up efforts “Mallrats,” “Chasing Amy,” and “Dogma.” As of late, Smith has been more of a critical punching bag than a pioneering indie filmmaker. The director’s last release, “Yoga Hosers,” was widely panned by critics and bombed at the box office. And yet, Smith refuses to look at the glass half empty.
“People tell me the quality of my flicks went to shit when I got married and had a kid,” Smith recently told his critics on social media. “If so, it was a fair trade: whatever ailed me as a piss-&-vinegar 20-something was gone, replaced by joy and contentment. Great art comes from pain — so maybe happy people don’t make great art.
