When you think of Quentin Tarantino, classic films like “Reservoir Dogs,” “Pulp Fiction,” and “Django Unchained” certainly come to mind. But what about the critically reviled “Saturday Night Live” sketch adaptation “It’s Pat”? Or the Michael Bay Alcatraz action movie “The Rock”? Tarantino’s fingerprints have been all over the movies ever since his breakout debut in 1992, and some of his projects are way more bizarre than others.

Hope everyone in the U.S. had a nice holiday weekend! I’m thankful I actually got this week’s edition done, even though I guess most folks were busy as I only have a few links:
This week’s Must Read is an oldie, but a goodie. And by “oldie” I don’t mean two weeks ago in Internet time! This is an article from 1948 by filmmaker Lewis Jacobs that is considered the first substantial history of American avant-garde filmmaking called “Experimental Cinema in America.” It was published in the Hollywood Quarterly and is broken down into a couple chapters, exploring the typically little written about period of 1921-41, then gets into the post-war boom of Deren, Anger, etc., as well as a brief bit on Amos Vogel’s groundbreaking Cinema 16. Plus, lots of great pictures! Here’s some Dirty Pictures for you to look at. Plus, Cockfighter and...

We all know him. We all love him. In fact he may be, despite what certain beer commercials say, the most interesting man in the world. His name is Bruce Campbell and he’s the world’s most famous B-Movie actor! Today we’ll be counting the Top Ten Bruce Campbell Roles, starting with number ten…..
10. My Name Is Bruce (Movie, 2007)
Despite being poorly reviewed (by me included), This still makes the list as it is uncut, unadulterated Bruce Campbell in it’s purest form. The plot is a little iffy and the ending is nothing more than a B-Movie send up, but who gives a damn about plot when Bruce Campbell is kicking ancient monster ass in a Hawaiian Shirt?
9. Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters (Movie, 2007)
8. The X-Files (TV Series, “Terms of Endearment”, 1999)
7. The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. (TV Series, 1993-1994)
