Marshall Bell was the first and only choice for "The Vagrant" by Director Chris Walas. There was a casting call and the moment that Bell's head shot appeared, Walas called it off and said the the casting director that he didn't want anyone else. Walas had also wanted Bell to be cast in The Fly II in 1988 for his directorial debut but couldn't cast him due to a contractual issue since the film was being filmed in Canada and the production had to involve Canadian actors involved.
