Nobody owns Oliver Stone. I’ve talked with this filmmaker for decades, and he’s consistent to a fault. The Oscar-winning writer-director (“Platoon,” “JFK,” “Wall Street”) has always gone his own way. If there’s an impediment, he’ll find a way around it. Hell, he’ll even con the El Salvador government to give him army soldiers for a movie critical of El Salvador.
Which is one reason why Stone met with Nsa whistleblower Edward Snowden in Moscow, not once, or twice, but nine times. Stone will tell you: You can’t trust the United States government. You can’t trust the Nsa, CIA, or FBI. You can’t trust the Hollywood studios, because those are corporations run by lawyers. And you certainly can’t trust the media.

They say opposites attract, and that seems to be very much the case in the latest “Snowden” clip.
In the new video from the Oliver Stone-directed biopic about the Nsa whistleblower, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who portrays the title character, and Shailene Woodley, his longtime girlfriend Lindsay Mills, are seen strolling past protestors outside of the White House. Right from the beginning you can tell that the couple has opposing political views; Mills is anti-war and a liberal, while Snowden is a conservative with strong reservations.
“I don’t really like bashing my country,” Snowden says after Mills asks if the protestors have “too much independent spirit.” Mills replies to his answer by saying, “It’s my country too and right now it has blood on its hands.”

There are no happy endings in Sean Ellis’ World War II drama “Anthropoid.” But should a new plan to honor the heroes portrayed within the new war drama pan out, the true story’s gruesome history might be forever altered in an unexpectedly positive way.
Ellis’ latest film follows the true story of Czech resistance fighters Josef Gabčík (Cillian Murphy) and Jan Kubiš (Jamie Dornan), who undertook the nearly impossible mission to assassinate SS General Reinhard Heydrich in Prague in 1942. The plan ultimately resulted in the deaths of Kubiš, Gabčík and five other Czech fighters – and while Heydrich didn’t die immediately as planned, he did succumb to his injuries soon after, altering the course of the war forever – and while the soldiers have long been national heroes, over seven decades have passed without a proper burial for their bodies.

Before Oliver Stone releases “Snowden” in theaters nationwide this September, he has some very important words to share with you about texting in the movies…and your cell phone in general. In a humorous and foreboding new PSA released by distributor Open Road Films, Stone asks viewers to turn their cell phones off during “Snowden,” but goes one step further in suggesting that you might just want to shut your cell phone off forever.

The sheer infinity of World War II stories has proven to be one of cinema’s most renewable sources of inspiration, and — like a puzzle that slowly reveals its with the addition of every new piece — each movie made about that extraordinary period of time has the effect of enhancing them all. But with so many stories to tell, it’s unsurprising that even some of the most remarkable ones have been overlooked (if only, as is often the case, because there doesn’t seem to be much money in telling them).
Sean Ellis’ “Anthropoid” may not be a particularly compelling piece of drama, but it earns its place in the pantheon of World War II movies by virtue of the urgency with which it reaches into the pages of Czech history books, retrieves an enormously pivotal episode from them, and renders it for all to see on the silver screen.

Depending on how you look at it, young Louis Drax (Aiden Longworth) is either very, very lucky or tremendously unlucky. Having survived eight near-death accidents — one for each year of his life, a pretty terrible way to demarcate life-threatening injuries — Louis falls (literally) into another terrible accident when he tumbles of a steep cliff and right into a coma. Lorne Michaels is ready to get away from it all.
Not permanently, of course. Michaels has never been more powerful in television, as he oversees NBC’s late night crown jewels and produces buzzy comedies like IFC’s “Portlandia.” But after overseeing six episodes of NBC’s “Maya and Marty,” which came straight off the “Saturday Night Live” finale, he’s ready to take a two-week vacation. When the third generation Pokemon games were released, I had found myself moving away from the series. I was getting a little older and, like many teenagers, I didn’t want to associate with things from childhood. I feel like a lot of fans in my age group did a lot of the same, since we were quickly moving out of the primary demographic.
It didn’t help that Ruby and Sapphire seemed to go out of its way to alienate the existing fanbase. Part of the idea of Gen III was that it was a new beginning for the series. There are a few reasons for this, but regardless, it also left Gen III perceived for years as the least popular generation.

These new photos from the show’s upcoming midseason premiere, titled “A Ghost Along The Mississippi,” do not show Klaus enacting any revenge for the death of Cami (although you can surely bet that he will seek vengeance, and that it will be merciless), but they do give insight into what many of the other characters

Read More: Watch: Seth Rogen Helps John Oliver Take Down Daily Fantasy Sports on 'Last Week Tonight' To celebrate the beginning of 2016, John Oliver saw fit to give audiences this web exclusive, in which he instructs us on how not to feel the inevitable disappointment of failing at all of our New Year's resolutions. His advice: Either lower them to a level where it becomes impossible not to achieve them, or raise them to an impossible level so when you don't achieve them you won't care. Perhaps Oliver has been tuning into a recent positive psychology study which asserts that low expectations is a key to happiness. Or he used this entire bit to tell a joke about mice in a hot tub. Either way, while "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" will be back on HBO on February 14, until then this clip will have to do. Read More: Watch:...

The Vampire Diaries already revealed two weeks ago that Bonnie and Enzo are, somehow, a couple in the show’s flash-forwards, and even though it’s still pretty hard to believe that that these characters end up getting together, last week’s episode certainly featured a couple scenes between them where you could see the chemistry. And that chemistry is on display again in tonight’s all-new The Vampire Diaries, titled “Mommie Dearest,” as Bonnie and Enzo go on a mission to take down Julian. In the sneak peek below, Bonnie and Enzo search through a junkyard together to find Oscar’s car for ones specific reason: Julian wants it, and they don’t want to let him get it. During their search, however, Bonnie gives Enzo some much needed advice about Lily and how he might one to try a different approach if he’s going to steal her attention away from Julian.

Netflix has long made a play to be subscriber's primary, if not sole, entertainment source, and now it looks to be adding a bit of visual grandeur to its resume. With "Game of Thrones" giant Jason Momoa set to star and "San Andreas" director Brad Peyton lined up as an executive producer, "Frontier" looks on paper to be a big screen adventure pared down for your HDTV or iPhone. Read More: Watch: Seth Rogen Helps John Oliver Take Down Daily Fantasy Sports on 'Last Week Tonight' "Frontier" is a drama following the wild fight over the North American fur trade during the late 18th century. Read More: 'Why 'The Last Man on Earth' Is A Substantial Achievement, and Season 2 Hints In a tranquil, candlelit room, Seth Meyers and Will Forte took the time to reflect on their mistakes over the course of their 10-year friendship on last night's episode of "Late Night with Seth Meyers." As sweet sounds of a wind pipes filled the air, the duo amazingly didn't break character and charged through with the slew of wrongdoings they committed against each other in search of redemption. Forte's admissions are made all the more hilarious by his tight-lipped sincerity (and thanks to his stellar "The Last Man on Earth" beard), but we're not sure his transgressions are on par with Seth's. See for yourself in the video above, and hopefully the duo didn't get everything off their chests and will have to come back for one more special of "Seth and Will Clear the...

When you hear that "Project Greenlight" is a reality competition show, you might expect a "Project Runway"-style showdown series, but here's the twist: The winner gets picked in the first episode. That's because the show's focus — as vaguely well-known men about town Matt Damon and Ben Affleck explain in the above trailer — is on the truth of what it's like to actually make a film. The fourth season of "Project Greenlight" follows the production of a comedy produced by the Farrelly Brothers, with a promise to focus on the difficulties underlying the art of filmmaking. Because with no time and no money, the drama is very real. "Project Greenlight" Season 4 premieres September 13 at 10pm on HBO. Is the Vicki-Meghan war ever going to end? For ratings sake, let’s hope not. Watching these two go at it is the reason Reality TV was invented in the first place. During a nice, lovely, upscale lunch the ladies get together to discuss, well, you know, everything? But things get a little heated when psychic talk begins. “I’m not going to listen to a psychic or Meghan Edmonds—who is 30 years old, a year older than my son,” Vicki snaps. “Shame on her. It’s disgusting. She needs to shut the f— up. For her to even believe a psychic shows how immature she is.” Vicki sent a nasty text to Meghan, which Meghan reads to Heather. Meggers can’t understand why Vicki’s upset because “the psychic insinuated Brooks doesn’t have cancer; not me.” Honestly we don’t have much to comment on here. It’s...

As per Microsoft’s exclusivity deal with Activison, each and every Dlc pack that arrives for Call of Duty makes its console debut on Xbox platforms first before appearing elsewhere. And Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare proved to be no different, with the shooter’s maiden expansion, Havoc, already available on Xbox One and Xbox 360, the publisher has detailed when the add-on will arrive for PC and PlayStation systems.
According to Activision, that date has been pegged as Thursday, February 26, where four all-new multiplayer maps along with Sledgehammer Games’ futuristic take on the classic Zombies Mode will become available. Much like Dlc packs of old, Havoc will be available to download day and date for those season pass holders, whereas the add-on can be picked up as a standalone purchase for $15.
