- The story centers on a woman whose outgoing nature and desire to find love bring her in conflict with the straight-laced public morality of the time. She dresses in tight-fitting clothing, is flirtatious, and it's implied that she has previously repulsed efforts to pressure her into prostitution.
- An unclothed man has fallen outside the bedroom of a woman, also nude; it's implied they've has sex. Her breast is briefly visible.
- A young woman (Laura Dern) throws herself on a man (Robert Duvall) and says she's in love with him. They kiss deeply and she bares her right breast. He puts his hand on her naked breast and slightly squeezes it. Two kids watch the incident.
