Violence & Gore

  • Two thugs rough up Brooks' character and rob him twice and set a bag lady's possessions on fire (played seriously).
  • A dead body on the sidewalk (more sad than disturbing).
  • The rest is all pretty much comical including a major slapstick fight.

Profanity

  • 4 uses of goddamn, bitch and shit
  • one F word, a few S words, and a few other profanities.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Characters randomly drink throughout the film.
  • We see the two thugs preparing to do cocaine but not the actual use.
  • Brooks' character gets heavily over-medicated at a hospital in a funny scene.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The street conditions that the homeless are forced to live in may be disturbing to some.
  • The two thugs, while having a little bit of a comic twist to them, are menacing and cruel.
  • While played for laughs a bunch of rats run over Mel Brooks' character while he is sleeping.
