Good Troma-tic fun.
TalesfromTheCryptfan30 April 2006
A couple of years after the original movie, Tromaville has gotten a new university merged with the nuclear power plant called "The Tromaville Institute of Technology ( a.k.a. TIT)" and it seems like a perfect place to have campus life with booze, hot chicks who wear bikinis, and being yourself. However a scientist named Professor Holt ( Lisa Gaye) has been creating humanoid beings out of chemicals called Sub-Humanoids who are perfect for slavery, pleasure and to serve people but however they are different than the average normal human being as they have second mouths for bellybuttons and they would sometimes go into meltdown into slimy gooey little creatures if they hurt people. Ace reporter Roger Smith ( Brick Bronsky) is on the verge to find out about the secret of who is behind these sub-humanoids even if he falls for one.

Weak but fun sequel to the 1986 cult trash classic from Troma with the usual knockers, self referential material, nudity, and gross out humor with it. I did however thought that girl Roger falls for is a total hottie even though her character had a mouth on her stomach, if your in the mood for goofy no-brain fun then watch this if you liked the original.

No connection to the first film

Warning: Spoilers
CLASS OF NUKE 'EM HIGH PART II: SUBHUMANOID MELTDOWN is a Troma comedy with a great title and a rubbish execution. It has virtually nothing to do with the original movie, which was kind of fun, but instead features a mad scientist bent on making artificial 'subhumanoids' which occasionally go into meltdown. Oh, and at the climax a giant monster squirrel attacks, animated via a rubbish puppet monster. This is a silly mish-mash of ideas masquerading as a movie, featuring a naked artificial woman and a guy with an annoying highly-pitched voice. Everything about it is terrible, including the jokes.

Binges...
fmarkland327 November 2006
Brick Bronsky stars as an intellectual muscle man who ends up protecting the girl of his dreams (Translated the only girl who will sleep with him) from corporation lackeys as well as a group of fat bikers who dominate the college. Oh and there are subhumanoids who are created and melt down with little of explanation, although the professor(Lisa Gaye) who sports a Marge Simpson haircut has a cure and being that Bronsky's girlfriend is a subhumanoid, he wants the cure. Of course education takes a backseat to non-stop bizarre set-pieces. Because last month was Halloween I did a non-stop binge on horror movies (AKA movies found in my horror section)and I saw this with the first. The first movie was made with gross out humor but also with restraint that things never got too out of control. Not so here, as Class Of Nukem High II is so bizarre and surreal that it's a non-stop assault on not only your senses but also your common sense and your physical being in general. You will not find a more weird film and yet I admit some of this went a long way, just not enough to be worth putting money down on. Reviewing this movie is hard because it's meant to be bizarre and there is tons of imagination and moments where the humor works but it's just so weird. And my taste in movies is hardly mainstream.

This is where Troma went wrong...
BigStinky9 June 2007
I love the original Class.... and also love the original Toxic Avenger. It's a fine line, but but they crossed it and went to cheesy and annoying. The lead is VERY annoying as is most of this movie. The Toxie sequels are kind of on the same lines as this...but back on track now with Toxie 4. I wish they'd do a sequel to Class like they did with Toxie 4 and disregard the crap fest sequels. Again there's a fine line between cheesy fun and annoying crap. This is annoying crap. Lloyd hit the mark again with Toxie 4, and I wish he'd do Class the same justice!! He can do it, I have faith! The second and third of this series are no fun stinkers. There's all the stapled of great exploitation here, but it's just not fun. Lloyd please make this right!!!

Disappointing Sequel

Class of Nuke 'Em High Part II: Subhumanoid Meltdown (1991)

* 1/2 (out of 4)

The Troma school from the first nuclear disaster has been cleaned up and now it has been turned into a college. Wannabe reporter Roger Smith (Brick Bronsky) covers the story of what happens to the school that turned it back into a nuclear disaster as well as a giant mutant squirrel that breaks loose.

I honestly wasn't the biggest fan of the original movie but there's no question that it's a lot better than this sequel. I'm sure Troma die-hards are going to love whatever they put out but to me this sequel is just a complete waste of time. You'll notice during the opening credits that there were six people credited with the screenplay but perhaps a seventh pair of hands would have helped things.

The first film, like Troma's THE TOXIC AVENGER, was just an offensive, gory and over-the-top film that mixed horror and comedy. Say what you want about Troma's style but these early politically incorrect films were a lot of fun. It seems that the sequels to THE TOXIC AVENGER and CLASS OF NUKE 'EM HIGH were greeted with a lot of hate because they weren't as outrageous. In the years since there release it seems to be that Troma had to deliver a more "R-rated" film and that's what happened.

With that being said, there are all sorts of problems here including the film just being a complete mess and it really does seem like they had no idea what they wanted to do with the picture so they basically took the first film and re-made it but without the laughs and humor. The film features all the bad acting and bad special effects that you'd expect from Troma but it's just not funny or entertaining this time out.

What was really awful was the non-stop narration, which was just annoying after a while. It also didn't help that the characters were all forgettable and that includes the giant squirrel.

Amazingly, it took six people to come up with the moronic screenplay for this film.
BA_Harrison30 December 2017
A late entry in the minor horror sub-genre known as 'melt movies', Class of Nuke 'Em High Part II: Subhumanoid Meltdown is Troma at its most puerile: 100 minutes of crass lunacy on a low, low budget, with a ridiculous plot, screwy characters and more melon-heavy breasts than you can shake a uranium rod at. You either dig this stuff, or like me, struggle to find the appeal.

Set in Tromaville, New Jersey, the film sees Roger Smith (Brick Bronsky)-high-school reporter at Tromaville Tech and owner of a ponytail mullet-investigating strange goings on at the power plant owned by the Nukamama Corporation. While on the case, Roger falls for sexy Victoria (Leesa Rowland), unaware that she is a subhumanoid, the result of experiments at the plant conducted by Professor Holt (Lisa Gaye).

Z-grade melt effects, a morbidly obese man in biker/bondage gear, hundreds of shame-free extras in crazy outfits, a 'man in a monster suit' mutant squirrel, a dumb cameo from Troma cult figure Toxie, a diabolical theme song: I could feel my IQ dropping as I watched.

2/10, purely for the fun stop-motion creatures, including a flying fish-baby!

There is still enough fun and gross out gags and crazy giant squirrel monsters for you Troma fans to sink your teeth into.
bryank-0484411 August 2015
Warning: Spoilers
One of Troma's bigger franchises next to 'The Toxic Avenger' are the 'Nuke Em High' movies. There have been a few of them and all have that special and unique Troma insanity, which includes blood, guts, laughs, and tons of nudity. The first 'Class of Nuke Em High' came out in 1986 and was pretty straight-forward in a Troma sort of way. The sequel, which came out in 1991 was a completely different animal altogether with a new director named Eric Louzil who wanted to make his own 'Nuke Em High' movie.

He didn't really even make a direct sequel, but instead tried something new. Like most Troma sequels, things tend to go berserk in a chaotic manner where a smoother story is left to rot in the corner. It's about more monsters, boobs, and gore this time around, but hey, I'm not really complaining, because I know what I'm in for with Troma most of the time. The big corporation Nukama decides to build a new technology college where Tromaville High once stood called Tromaville Institute of Technology or (T.I.T.) for short. I know, pure geniuses. Of course, this being Troma, the student body consists mostly of almost naked women and a gang called The Squirrels who more or less break into fights than learn.

Professor Holt (Lisa Gaye) is in charge of the Subhumanoid program, which is basically mutating humans into these monstrous creatures that have no emotions and are expected to perform easy tasks. There are still a few kinks to work out though as most of the Subhumanoids tend to melt to death at any given moment, hence the title 'Subhumanoid Meltdown'. The school reporter Roger tends to report on all the gossip and fights in school, but comes across a Subhumanoid and ends up falling love with her. When he finds out about the melting condition, he sets out to stop the evil Professor Holt and find a cure.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that there is also a giant mutated evil squirrel named Tromie that breaks out and tries to destroy everything and everyone in the city. I couldn't make this up if I tried. Oddly enough, the start of the film tries to show us what's in store through the movie, by pretty much giving the ending away or at least the climax. It's a strange decision, one that slows the pace down quite a bit. That being said, this unique sequel still has enough Troma nudity and gore to keep your attention and even has a cameo by The Toxic Avenger in a slapstick scene.

In the end, this sequel is to chaotic and runs all over the place instead of trying to keep to the story at hand. In addition, this sequel tries to show too much at the beginning of the film in stead of pacing itself out. That being said, there is still enough fun and gross out gags and crazy giant squirrel monsters for you Troma fans to sink your teeth into.

I did like it better than the first one.
Aaron13752 March 2004
That is not exactly a great feat. I did not care for the first one much at all, and I did not like this one all that much either. I did, however, like it more than part one. As stupid and gross as it was I did snicker at a few of the jokes so it gets a couple of points for that. This one plays more like an "Airplane" or "Naked Gun", so that helped it with me a bit as well. I liked how they opened by recapping the first one and then basically telling you it had nothing to do with this one. There was a part where they had this squirrel investigating something and talking in a chipmunk voice. There were a couple of other good jokes I liked as well, like the guy that could not get a girl yet he looked like the type of guy girls chase after. All in all though most of the jokes were stupid and fell flat and the movie just tried to gross you out for the sake of grossing you out. Like when the two people are making out and melting at the same time. Still though, was better than part one, but it wasn't good enough to make me want to see part three.

Not one of Troma's better movies!
DarylJGittings8 January 2024
This sequel to the 1986 cult classic "Class of Nuke 'Em High" is a rather disappointing film. The action takes place at the Tromaville Institute of Technology or T. I. T. For short. College newspaper reporter Roger Smith (Brick Bronsky) strikes out with all the ladies. He volunteers for a sexual experiment to score and a get a nice $8.00. Roger falls in love with Victoria, a subhuman being that is part of the experiment. The subhumans have lips in their navel. When Roger discovers this he is put off, but his love for Victoria reigns supreme.

There is a problem with the subhumans eventually melting down. Roger must find a way to save his love before she turns into a big pile of goo.

There are some cool things about this sequel like Tromie the giant mutant squirrel, but Class of Nuke 'Em High II is just an attempt to cash in on the popularity of the original film. Although Troma has produced some real duds, they've also made some the best B horror movies too. For hardcore fans only! If you want to watch some good sequels to Class of Nuke 'Em High skip straight to Return to Nuke 'Em High Volumes 1 and 2.

Good
manitobaman8130 August 2014
You've got to be a die-hard fan to embrace this one. Sounds corny? It's meant to be goofy. The class of nuke 'em high is back, and this time they're in college! I remember watched this as a kid, I am thankful for that. This is a great film with a tone reminiscent of Doctor Detroit. If you love silly, this should be a rewarding experience for you. Granted, most supporting characters were one-dimensional. There's something very nostalgic about it. I urge you to see it with an open mind. It will either surprise or disappoint you, depending on what your expectations are. I laughed and was moved and all of that good stuff. It gets 7 out of 10 from me.

dull
talllwoood132 April 2021
The first movie I've seen twice and although it's not a masterpiece it's better than this, this had nothing to do with it. The costumes and silly over the top was cranked to 11 but the movie plot was so weak in this. The main character wasn't very likable. I couldn't see myself being him. Maybe the squirrel and the man with the beard with the really high pitched voice. I remember from this movie more than anything. It's just gore and quite a lot of nudity. I hope the other movies are better than this in the series. Me and my friend who watched this movie gave up trying to watch this for the plot and talked through this how stupid it got.

Warning: Spoilers
holy cheesefest. I'm sorry but I have to quickly comment on another reviewers review because it seemed odd to me and it is the main review showing when you look at this movie. Its by Aaron1347 or something like that, he says he didn't like the first class of nuke em high...so then why did you watch the sequel? people like that bother me. He also says that he liked it more than the first but its not good enough to make him want to watch the third one...that doesn't make any sense. Anyways, this movie is just downright ridiculous. It is the peak of troma's stupidity. Everything in this movie seems to be put there just for the sake of being dumb and outrageous. I found myself shaking my head more than laughing but it was still a fun ride. The characters are all over the top comic book types just made for comedies sake. Pointing out flaws in a movie that is pretty much just one big flaw is kind of redundant but personally the one thing I would have taken out of this schlock fest was the weird fat guy who talked with a really intentionally fake, annoying high pitched voice. I nearly fast forwarded through any scene with him in it. The movie is filled with blood, goo, hilarity, and did I mention stupidity? There is also a healthy heaping of nudity because in a school where there is limited locked space it just makes sense that there would also be limited clothing. just turn your brain off for an hour and half and enjoy yourself. I liked it more than the first one in the series and the third one is pretty much the same as this one.

Even weirder than the original(If that's even possible)
aaronzombie14 August 2001
Warning: Spoilers
The first of 2 sequels to 1984's Class of Nuke 'Em High is even weirder, believe or not. We have more sex, more goo, more monsters, and even more cretins. It's one strange ride, but it's fun too!

!!!POSSIBLE SPOILER OR 2!!!Years have passed since the destruction of Tromaville High and it has been rebuilt into a college campus. A school newspaper reporter is our hero of the story who discovers something strange going on at the new nuclear power plant. People melting down into "gobs of green goo" and weird science experiments abound in Professor Holt's lab. The conclusion includes a mutant squirell attacking the school and students.

Good story, effects, and some funny moments. ***1/2 out of *****.

Surreal sequel is uneven but crazy fun
gridoon20 June 2007
If the original "Class of Nuke'Em High" was a mix of horror and comedy, this sequel is a straight-up parody that abandons all groundings in reality (the college operates INSIDE the nuclear power plant, and the students are regularly tested for radiation and often have to wear gas masks) and should be taken about as seriously as "Hot Shots, Part Deux". It's sometimes funny, sometimes not, but what I appreciated about it is that, although it rubs its bad taste in your face, it does it in a goofy and essentially good-natured way. I did think that the male leading role should have been played by an actor who looked more like a nerd and less like a jock, but that's a minor complaint. Jam-packed with hot women, great (or at least greatly creative) special effects, slime, destruction of property, and inside Troma references, "Subhumanoid Meltdown" is recommended for those who like their comedies unafraid to go over (and I do mean over) the edge. Hilarious! With a rockin theme song...
whammy66617 June 2006
This is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. It is incredibly stupid, incredibly bad acted, and includes incredibly bad special effects. So, what's not to like? I mean, this movie also includes an award winning number of melon heavy breasts...although many of these chicks are bald...but hey, they got large knockers! Yes, this is Class of Nuke Em High 2: Subhumanoid Meltdown. It has near no relation to the original Class of Nuke Em High, but that is okay. This film is about the T.I.T: Tromaville Institute of Technology and all the wacky things that happen on campus including a giant mutated squirrel who likes large nuts, peeing on nuclear power plants, and sneezing on innocent civilians. At the same time, subhumanoids have lived on campus, they are like humans only they have a mouth instead of a belly button, so they are better at making love. Sound simple enough because we also got a dolphin-sophomore who is belemic and a professor with a 9 foot hairdo. Dear, I have said too much. Just make sure to hear the rocking theme song, which is one of the film's best qualities. Just check this movie out nuff said. It is dumb, tasteless, and incredibly bad, but also it is hilarious! Check it out!

"You are filled with such love... & green stuff." I liked it better than the original.
poolandrews20 April 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Class of Nuke 'Em High Part II: Subhumanoid Meltdown is again set in the radiation polluted town of Tromaville, although instead of the High School this time the story takes place at the 'Tromaville Institute for Technology' or 'TIT' for short (yeah folks that's the level of comedy this film aspires to). Misguided genetic scientist Professor Holt (Lisa Gaye) has created a new form of life, a genetically created human being who fully matures within nine months & can be used for all those jobs us humans don't like, Professor Holt calls her creations Subhumanoids. Ace reporter for the Tromaville Tech Times Roger Smith (Brick Bronsky) becomes romantically involved with a Subhumanoid named Victoria (Leesa Rowland), however no-one said the course of true love would be smooth & as such there is a problem with Victoria. It comes to Roger's attention that other Subhumanoids are beginning to go into meltdown &, well melt into green slime leaving behind a furry green football sized creature. Roger also becomes aware of Dean Okra's (Scott Resnick) plan to turn all the Subhumanoids into slaves & sets out to free them & find a cure to stop Victoria from turning into green goo, meanwhile a 30 foot radiation mutated squirrel goes on the rampage as it stomps it's way through Tromaville...

Co-written & directed by Eric Louzil I personally thought Class of Nuke 'Em High Part II: Subhumanoid Meltdown was better than the original & a pretty good comedy horror in it's own right. The script by Louzil, Lloyd Kaufman, Carl Morano, Mark F. Roling, Jeffrey W. Sass & Matt Unger is a vast improvement over the original as it actually has a storyline this time round. It still doesn't make a whole lot of sense but it never takes itself seriously & is good fun to watch. Some may disagree as it has the usual low brow humour you would expect from Troma, a fat guy bending over sticking his bum at the camera & farting, projectile vomit, throwing a baby around like a football, the limited locker space so the students (the female ones in particular) wear very limited amounts of clothing & a giant mutated squirrel urinating & being sick over everyone. However in the case of Class of Nuke 'Em High Part II: Subhumanoid Meltdown it works quite well, don't get me wrong it's far from brilliant but it's entertaining in a strange funny sort of way. The character's aren't the best & the dialogue isn't exactly Oscar worthy stuff but then this is Troma so what did you expect? Something is always happening, it moves along at a nice pace & at least it's never boring.

Director Louzil doesn't do anything particularly outstanding but it's better made than most Troma films that's for sure. The jokes & gags are very hit & miss, I found some funny while other's I found simply moronic. It certainly tries hard to pack as much crazy action as it can into it's 100 odd minute run time. I also must mention the closing credits, besides a cool theme song there are some really funny credits like 'Unoriginal Story by I. Kant Wright' a list of 'People Who Did Not Act in this Film' & more. The film goes for outrageous comedy more than horror so don't expect any scares or shocks, the gore is conspicuous by it's absence, a torn off head & someone eating some broken glass is as gory as it gets. There is lots of nudity as one would expect from a Troma film.

Technically the film is alright although it varies from scene to scene. There are some stop-motion monsters which look OK while some of the other special effects are absolutely awful. A special mention goes to the closing theme music & catchy song which I thought was great. The acting isn't great & I still can't figure out what that point of Professor Holt's massive beehive hairdo was all about. There are plenty of good looking ladies with not much clothing on in this film, which helps.

I liked Class of Nuke 'Em High Part II: Subhumanoid Meltdown & found it quite funny although many will be put off by the low production values & totally bizarre plot. If your looking for a bit of fun & have a slightly depraved sense of humour then I recommend this film, if you don't then I don't. Followed by Class of Nuke 'Em High 3: The Good, the Bad and the Subhumanoid (1994).

Forgotten Troma movie... and for good reasons
Wizard-816 June 2010
Before I start, I feel I should reveal that long ago I was a Troma fan. I loved movies like "The Toxic Avenger" and "Troma's War". But the last Troma movie I liked was "Tromeo & Juliet" - after that, with movies like "Citizen Toxie", "Terror Firmer", and "Poultrygeist", I just didn't find their brand of humor funny anymore. They now seem to be trying too hard, screaming in our ears "HA HA, ISN'T THIS FUNNY?" Anyway, when I got my hands on "Class Of Nuke 'Em High Part II", I decided I would give it a chance, seeing it came from Troma during the period that they were at their height.

Unfortunately, I found this older movie to be just as bad as the product Troma is currently putting out - possibly even worse. The screenplay credit lists SIX writers, which should give you some idea of what a mess the final product is. It's such a mess, that the movie often depends on a narrator to explain some of the characters and what's going on. But there's still a lot about the movie that will have you scratch your head. Every character is basically running around screaming and not much more. None of this is funny, and nothing about the movie is funny, unless you find the idea of a library named after President Nixon funny. There's also an awful music score, and a feeling that the director is trying to be grotesque in every shot.

There's one good thing in the movie. There are some stop-motion animated sequences, and they're quite good for what was a very low budget. But even if you're interested in animation, you should still skip this movie.

High-energy and absolutely pointless; quite a lot of fun!
stroggos4 October 2017
Inside a nuclear power plant built on top of a high school, the Nukamama corporation creates a breed of so-called "subhumanoids". These slaves are supposed to serve their masters, but a malfunction leads many of them to "melt down". Chaos ensues and some radioactive waste transforms a squirrel into a projectile-vomiting urinating giant that wreaks havoc on Tromaville.

Well..... it's a Troma movie; do we expect any better? (or worse?) This movie is just plain fun, fast-paced "plot" development, lots of funky characters and slapstick jokes, lots of multi-colored liquids, vomit, and abundant sexploitation. Here's a few memorable quotes to give you a feel for the movie:

"I've never fed squirrels with a girl before - I didn't know what I was missing"

"Just because Victoria had lips on her belly, didn't stop me from loving her"

These quotes should help to gauge your expectations :)

Frenzied Film is Fabulous Fun!
fhabets9 May 2000
This is the kind of movie I never thought possible. Fast and furious, this movie's infectious energy makes double espressos seem like tepid water. Cornball humour and an affectionate feel for the truly bizarre are just two elements that propel this over-the-top meditation on the human condition.

A perfectly good entry in the Nuke 'Em High series. Lots of toxic goodness for everyone. I've seen some terrible movies made recently which don't come close to these sub standards of movie making. But seriously it not serious and that why you watch this stuff, its time to chill out and laugh. Exactly what I wanted it to be.

So bad it's outstanding
kevin_robbins2 November 2022
Class of Nuke 'Em High Part II: Subhumanoid Meltdown (1991) is a gem that I recently rewatched on Tubi. The storyline follows the Nuclear Plant from the first film being converted to a technology college for humans and humanoids. Some strange experiments and mutants are being formed in the college and a local, naive school reporter is about to uncover what it is and it's potential impact. Can he stop the experiment or will he be distracted by the gorgeous humanoids running around?

This movie is directed by Eric Louzil (Bikini Beach) and stars Leesa Rowland (Sgt. Kabukiman N. Y. P. D.), Jacki Moen (Switch), Robert Dawson (Fletch Lives), Troy Fromin (Saves by the Bell) and Paul Borghese (The Irishman).

This movie is awesome, a classic so bad it's outstanding. The attire and ladies in this are out of this world. There are a ton of butt shots and nudity from beginning to end. The creativity in the outfits is tremendous. So are the sets and settings. The narration is a bit annoying but you get over it. The flashback to the first film was a perfect way to start the picture and set the tone for this film. This film takes elements of the first film to an entirely new level. Everything about the storyline is random and unpredictable. I always love the Toxie cameos in these and the gore isn't serious but still makes you uncomfortable. The "mouth scenes" are hard to watch.

Overall, this is an artistic and creative addition to the science fiction/horror genres that is an absolute must see. I would score this a solid 7/10 and strongly recommend it.

Warning: Spoilers
Tromaville's nuclear reactor has been rebuilt since Class of Nuke 'Em High and the Nukamama Corporation that funded it has added a new college, the Tromaville Institute of Technology (T. I. T.), inside the design to pay back the city.

Professor Melvina Holt (Lisa Gaye, Mona Malfaire from The Toxic Avenger movies) has created Subhumanoids to do menial tasks. After losing his girlfriend, Roger Smith (Brick Bronsky, a former pro wrestler who is also in The Quest and Death Match) starts investigating these Subhumanoids and falling in love with one of them, Victoria (Leesa Rowland). The Subhumanoids tend to melt down, so he has to save her and fight Tromie, a gigantic mutant squirrel.

Directed by Eric Louzil (Fortress of Amerikkka) and Donald G. Jackson (yes, the man who made all the Roller Blade movies, that explains why I loved this) and written by like twenty people - I'm kidding, it was just Lloyd Kaufman, Eric Louzil, Carl Morano, Marcus Roling, Jeffrey W. Sass and Matt Unger - this movie even has the Toxic Avenger show up to break the movie.

Troma: the production and distribution company that doesn't hesitate to produce sequel after sequel and they keep getting better (Explain this: Citizen Toxie 8.8 70 votes on 12-nov-2001 ...). It's nihilism. It's eighties' nihilism. No, it's eighties' nihilism made in the nineties. With a spark of escapism. CNHP2SM insults our intelligence BIG TIME and we like it! The mission statement of Troma was already in Mother's Day (1980): 'There are three rules in the filmindustry: distribution, distribution and distribution.' That's what it's all about in Tromaville apparently.

Ever wanted to see a prequel of a post-apocalyptic movie? Well, this is it! (Otherwise, you might wanna try 'Miracle Mile'). Roger Smith is even more degenerated than Duke Nukem and wants to prevent the subhumanoids, who are integrated in campus life from melting down violently. One of the many strange things about this movie is that it pretends to be fantasy but keeps you with your feet firmly on the ground as the 'nothing special effects' in the end-credits confirm. Throughout we see people vomiting nuclearly in each others mouth (oh sorry, that was a spoiler), stop-motion animation, sexual harassments 'Just checking for malethion around uranus, ma'am' and supposedly giant squirrels with humongous nuts.

But this is more than just kicking in every possible open door. There is the distinctive Troma-humor and sexism that appeals to any self-respecting teenage escapist, but draws heavily on the cacophony of part one (even less coherent) and the enthusiasm of the nihilistic troma-cult society of which each member does not seem to fit in anywhere (not even that particular group). When FOX was producing Alien (1,2,3,4), Planet of the apes (1,2,3,4) and Star Wars (4,5,6,1), Troma found it necessary to make the excruciating Toxic Avenger (1,2,3,4) and Class of nuke 'em high (1,2,3,4). Still better than 'Fat guy goes nutzoid' (1986), 'Violent Sh*t' (1987), 'Driller Killer' (1979), 'Frankenhooker' (1990) together. And more fun than Lethal Weapon (1,2,3,4).

Recommended motion pictures: the Robot vs Octopus Monster saga from Beastie Boys' Intergalactic music video. I sincerely wanted to write a dissertation about this stuff, but there is no room for that here. CNHP2SM is reminiscent of certain 'Young Ones' (1982) episodes, Invasion of the bodysnatchers, The Fly, etc, but especially part 1 of course. Lousy music, warm beer, and saggy boobs: boner appetite. Why you layabout, now clear off. Grow up! 3/10

Poorly done, even by Troma standards

My review was written in March 1991 after watching the movie on video cassette.

Troma will have a hard time booking this unwarranted sequel, an incoherent mess that plays more like a trailer than a feature. Curiosity seekers in video stores represent the target audience.

Press kit ludicrously credits director Eric Louzil with discovering Kevin Costner. Actually he held back the thesp's career by hiring him for a couple of exploitation films a decade ago. Louzil demonstrates here that he has no feel for satire or comedy, absolute prerequisites for a Troma pic. Instead, most scenes consist of people running around aimlessly.

Beefcake star Brick Bronsky narrates a film-long flashback, a necessity given the lack of exposition in the live action. He's writing for the campus paper at Tromaville Institute of Technology, a combination college/nuclear power plant. Mad scientist Prof. Holt (attractive Lisa Gaye wearing piled up hairdo exaggerated from John Waters' "Hairspray") has created a race of drone subhumanoid workers, including beautiful Victoria (Leesa Rowland).

Unfortunately, they are subject to an ailment that causes them to melt into green goo. While Holt is working on the antidote, a squirrel turns into a Godzilla-type monster and stomps on some obvious miniatures.

An unfunny running gag insistas on the subhumanoids having mouths where their belly buttons should be. This is an excuse for plenty of topless footage of starlets, including porn star Trinity Loren. Production is so sloppy that a scene of bald subhumanoids has one of them portrayed by porn actres Sharon Mitchell with her normal hairdo.

Lead cast members have trouble reading lines and the dumb sound effects aren't very funny. Makeup and stop-motion effects are strictly amateurish.
