  • There is a scene were some people have a drink of wine at a restaurant. There is a few scenes where people are smoking.

  • One girl's father is an abusive drunk.

  • A woman drops a beer can.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Overall the whole mini-series can be quite frightening.
  • The series is more Frightening and intense than graphic and bloody.
  • The series is extremely Frightening and Intense.
  • A Skeleton crawls out of a lake and grabs a boys ankle
  • Scenes with Pennywise the Clown, which are integral to the story, will most likely scare young children.
  • Tiny monster-like creatures ( eyeballs, spiders, crabs etc ) come out of fortune cookies.
  • A character helps a man escape from a psychiatric asylum by turning into a clown with a barking dog's head.
  • A girl is in the bathroom and strange demonic noises from Pennywise are heard coming from the sink drain along with the voice of Georgie pleading for her to save him.
  • A red balloon ascends from the drain and explodes splattering raw blood everywhere
  • A woman visits her old childhood house and finds an old woman now living there and while they are both drinking tea together, the woman's cup fills with blood and then the old woman turns into a demon
  • The library scene can be mildly frightening, but it is mostly concieved by many viewers to be hilarious.
  • Any gore or blood or monsters/creatures look very fake and unrealistic, especially the clown's true form at the end of the movie.

Violence & Gore

  • Stan's head is found in a fridge (not gory) in the library. He starts talking creepily, and the library turns dark and windy, scattering everything across the room. Might scare younger viewers.
  • Beverlys father slaps her onscreen, and then threatens to "whip the skin off her" as she runs away.
  • Pennywise murders Laurie Ann Whittaberger, a 8-9 year old girl, in her backyard, it is not shown, but her lifeless body is shown covered in a blanket, being carried away on a stretcher (not graphic)
  • Pennywise taunts and threatens the kids and adults throughout. In the beginning of the film, he (rips out his arm offscreen) kills Georgie, Bill's brother.
  • A red balloon rises through a drain. When it pops, blood splatters everywhere. After the girl cleans it up, the blood comes back.
  • (Adult)Stan is found dead in a tub. Some blood is seen but no wounds. The word "It" is written in blood above his corpse.
  • Some people, using their bare hands, tear open the body of a spider like creature and pull its heart out (partially offscreen). This scene is super quick & mild.

Profanity

  • Though very little bad words. A character called Mike the word "Nigger" 2 times in the film, it can be considered inappropiate even offensive to viewers.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Henry starts to carve his name into Ben but before he can Ben kicks him.
  • Eddie dies in the losers' arm at the end. This is quite emotional.
