Spanish violent routine thriller about a lawyer who falls for an inmate and faces off nasty crooks
ma-cortes18 November 2017
A young lawyer , Ana Belen , newly separated to Antonio Valero , takes a criminal official case thanks to his higher-class father , Marcel Bozuffi , defending an inmate , Fabio Testi ,incarcerated by drug smuggling . Meanwhile , the inexperienced advocate investigates the issue to order to free the prisoner , but then she becomes involved with two dangerous delinquents : José Manuel Cervinos and Juan Echanove . And at the end it takes place a terrible and surprising vengeance.

This an average and failed thriller with elements of Noir Film , suspense , violence and noisy action at an exciting car pursuit . The film relies heavily on the silly love story between the obstinate advocate in law and the drug trafficker , but it does not work , and there is not chemical among the principal actors . In fact , Ana Belen and Fabio Testi had arguments throughout the film that spoiled the story . Fabio Testi , who replaced Lambert Wilson , provides a better performance than Ana Belen who is frankly lousy . Highlights of the movie are the photography of the big city of Bilbao of eighties , pre- Guggenhein museum , when this town was really sad as well as abandoned and showing essentially a Bilbao industrial . Along with a spectacular car chase , including a bridge bound and crashes . The main cast gives disconcerting and embarrassing acting . while the support cast is pretty well , such as Antonio Valero , a young Juan Echanove , the Italian Marcel Bozzufi , José Manuel Cervinos , brief interpretation by director Juan Antonio Bardem , and the early deceased Nacho Martinez . Being regularly written by director/writer Ricardo Franco and Imanol Uribe himself, and based on a novel by Andreu Martin titled Mono Y Caballo.

Atmospheric musical score in synthesizer by Alberto Iglesias who later to get big successes composing Almodovar Films and Hollywood scores , winning Academy Award . Atmospheric cinematography by Angel Luis Fernández , being necessary an urgent remastering because of the film copy is washed-out . The motion picture was middlingly made by Imanol Uribe at his fourth yarn , he was born in País Vasco where often shoots his films . Imanol directed La Muerte De Mikel , Proceso De Burgos , La Fuga De Segovia , these flicks along with Adios Pequeña were his first movies , all of them set in País Vasco . Subsequently , he directed films of all kinds of genres such as : Terror : Plenilunio , Luna Negra ; Drama : Miel De Naranjas , El Viaje De Carol , Bwana , Extraños , El Rey Pasmado and Thriller : Dias Contados , Carta Esferica .
