A movie director (Adolfo Marsillach) , separated from his wife and with two children with whom he barely has a relationship, is preparing a new film, "I'm Depressed Slowly" financed by a demanding producer (Jose Bodalo) , collaborating on the script with his friend Federico (Jesús Puente) who has just been abandoned by his wife (Encarna Paso) to enter a convent as a nun. They're working on a film together about growing old and connecting with the younger generation. One thing is the cinema and another, much more dangerous, life !.

A film with long shots and theatrical tone, supported by incisive dialogues and brilliant performances by Marsillach and Puente, who replaced Alfredo Landa and José Sacristán almost at the last moment , but both actors refused for having other professional commitments and because of professional rivalry between them. .As Marsillach is pretty good as a director who is having trouble connecting with his children as well as shooting a troubled film and Jesús Puente is nice as a screenwriter and playwright who is having trouble with his wife. Being well accompanied by a good support cast giving nice interpretations , such as María Casanova, José Bódalo, Encarna Paso , Víctor Valverde , Emma Suárez , Yolanda Rios, Juan Calot , Jesús Hermida, Rafael Hernández , among others .
