Classic '80s Adult Film
dgordon-115 October 2001
The version I am reviewing was edited for cable, so there was a lot of scenes cut from the movie. Regardless, it is an entertaining sequel to the classic "Insatiable" movie. Marilyn's over-the-top acting makes this movie stand out from some of the others of it's time. In this movie, Sandra Chase is to be interviewed by a magazine reporter on her life. In true Sandra Chase fashion, she shows and the reporter, and a photographer the carnal side of her life, all in classic '80s fashion! For fans of classic adult cinema, this one is worth renting or buying.

Juliet Anderson's Unique Style
sheedoshi12 July 2003
This film is made up of scenes from, I suppose, Insatiable I, perhaps? The scenes with Juliet Anderson are the best, however. Her interest with same sex pleasure is perhaps genetically brought on, as her two daughters have a go at one another in which we see was not their first tryst. Her artful curiosity and Marilyn's wanton pursuit make for some hot scenes. Actual dialog and authentic guttural moanings are a plus and now almost entirely absent. A funny scene in which we see the two sisters beginning to get aroused with one another in the kitchen and spy see a box of Ivory Soap on the counter beside them. Nice point of reference, no?

Insatiable II (1984)

** 1/2 (out of 4)

Sandra Chase (Marilyn Chambers) agrees to do an interview where she will share some of her sexual secrets. Soon she's teaching the interviewer a few new lessons.

INSATIABLE was one of the greatest porn movies in the history of the genre and a real landmark. This sequel isn't nearly as good but if you're a fan of Chambers then I'm sure there's enough here to keep you entertained. The story itself is pretty generic and I'd argue that the entire production just has a rather cheap feel to it. Whereas the first film was trying to be something good, this one here just seems to be trying to get some quick cash.

With that said, Chambers is obviously the main reason to watch this as she once again really lets herself go and comes across as a wild and crazy gal in the bed. I'm not sure if the sex scenes were just really her or if she was acting it up but it really does seem as if she's loving them, getting pain from them and just completely enjoying them, which is I'm sure another reason she was so popular (outside of her beauty).

The sex scenes are good for the most part and we even get a flashback to the pool table sequence from the first movie. Chambers appears in a fetish sequence with Jamie Gillis and the film closes out with a threesome.

Quadraphonic!
Disclord-121 November 2007
Poor sequel to the classic INSATIABLE. Interestingly, the original LaserDisc release was encoded in 4-Channel CBS SQ Quadraphonic Sound and bore the Tate-II Stereo Surround logo - it was meant to be decoded with the Fosgate Tate-II DES decoder (Directional Enhancement System). Reber-Ruggles productions did the SQ encoding as they owned the rights to the Tate-II SQ decoding system at that time - they also encoded the LaserDisc and Beta Hi-Fi versions of Dolly Parton Live In London and David Bowie Serious Moonlight. The Tate-II DES, while developed for CBS SQ Quadraphonic decoding was originally used by Dolby in their theatrical Dolby Stereo theater decoders until they developed their own decoding system in the mid-1980's.

Missed opportunity
jj_hansell19 January 2021
This should have been an outstanding X rated film, and should have been a great send-off to "Aunt Peg", Juliet Anderson, in one of her last roles. But it was not to be. Newcomer Shanna McCullough does some nice work as a firecrotch schoolgirl having same sex relations with her sister & a threesome with her mother's boyfriend. Every viewer's blood pressure must have been racing, thinking Mom would make it four at some point. But that didn't happen, in another missed opportunity. Janey Robbins, circa 1984, with her shaved vi-jay & piercings, had become way more slutty than sexy, and her scene with Craig Roberts is only partially redeemed by having it be a fantasy which Juliet is masturbating to in the shower. When you'd rather watch a 40 something woman play with herself than actual carnal relations, it tells you how lousy a scene is. None of Marilyn's scenes are especially arousing, in fact a B &D scene with Jamie Gillis is actually pretty "deflating". And another is lifted from "Insatiable", so it's been seen already. But all that pales in comparison to the dude who was touted as some great new "discovery", Robbie Dee, here making his first-and last-X rated appearance. Floppy, limp & envious of a stiff wind, the filmmakers nonetheless pair him with Marilyn not once but twice, the second time in a threesome with Juliet which is completely ruined by his inability to perform. (The first scene with Marilyn is at least partially saved by bringing in some help from the proverbial bullpen. It's obvious that what is known in the business as a "stunt c**k" was used. So an X rated film which features legends Marilyn Chambers & Juliet Anderson is really only worth watching because of Shanna McCullough. (And her lesbian scene with her on screen sister should have been longer, too.)

Better Luck the Second Time Around
Nodriesrespect19 March 2008
Four years after their box office obliterating INSATIABLE, supernova Marilyn Chambers and director Stu Segall (a/k/a "Godfrey Daniels") return for a second helping. Production proves relatively frugal in comparison. Gone is the extensive – yet pointless – location shooting and even Sandra Chase's luxurious lifestyle, which has gone from opulent to comfortable, seems to have suffered somewhat from the all too familiar "Golden Age drawing to a close" syndrome that marks the difference between adult movies made in 1980 and 1984. In my opinion, these "restrictions" actually help the film out.

The original was, erotic fireworks notwithstanding, a fairly overblown affair, an attempt by the adult industry to infringe on the world of romping riches glorified by soft-core sinema, think EMMANUELLE and her myriad sisters in skin. Also, I felt that the addition of a deep-seated trauma (i.e. the death of her parents in a car crash a few years earlier) to narratively explain her healthy sexual appetites was wholly unnecessary, smacking of the type of "socially redeeming value" sex flicks of the '60s sought to provide, especially as it failed to engage viewer sympathy for her (far from pitiful) plight. The sequel proves more straightforward, detractors might even claim formulaic, but the boinking turns out far more enjoyable without all the baggage.

More or less picking up where INSATIABLE left off, Sandra Chase (Chambers) rules the world, or at least the entertainment industry as model turned actress turned authoress of tell all autobiography. Ace journalist Morgan Templeton (ageless Juliet Anderson) wants to learn whether all of her lofty carnal claims are actually true or mere fabrications to further increase her box office bank-ability. In the process, she learns a thing or two about her own all too long suppressed sensuality as a single mother of two teenage daughters on the verge of erotic awakening.

That's the "plot" in a nutshell but as with its predecessor, though a sheen of surface gloss effectively papered over the cracks, the sex scenes tell the real story. In this respect, the movie's considerably less Marilyn-centered than the first installment and, truth be told, none the worse for it. Sandra's loss of maidenhead to crude gardener David Morris on the pool table is recycled from the original which makes it a flashback to a flashback ! At least it's a great scene that still has not worn out its welcome on this reappearance. Hotter still as far as I'm concerned, since Marilyn's no longer required to act the coy teenager and can thus be her startling self instead, is Sandra's "afternoon delight" with experienced bondage master Jamie Gillis, by far the heated highlight on this second time around. The always appealing Anderson proves no slouch either in another scorching solo – one of her specialties, as Chris Warfield's superlative sleeper PURELY PHYSICAL ably attests – and her grand finale with Chambers and Bobbie (not Robbie nor Billy) Dee as the photographer who receives one of the most mouthwatering blow jobs ever caught on film from Marilyn earlier on, though eagle-eyed viewers will spot veteran performer Ron Jeremy "stunting" for the inserts. For those whose tastes run towards younger women, there's the dynamic duo of a very youthful Shanna McCullough and Valerie LaVeaux as Juliet's offspring, ganging up on Sandra's befuddled manager Paul Thomas. Hey, he's got no reason to complain ! Luscious LaVeaux made a few more appearances in Eve Milan's girlie shows FIRST TIME AT CHERRY HIGH and THE T & A TEAM before disappearing from view.

Arguable the most accomplished cinematographer gainfully employed by the adult industry, Jack Remy works wonders with comparatively limited resources, tripping the light fantastic to make seasoned sirens such as Chambers and Anderson (and, in a steamy fantasy sequence, the notoriously hard to photograph Janey Robbins) look like the goddesses we, true fans, know them to be. Marilyn would return to the material, sort of, making her third explicit comeback more than a full decade later in Veronica Hart's disappointing STILL INSATIABLE, a sequel in name only.

Insatiable:Part 2.
morrison-dylan-fan24 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Waking up in the middle of the night,I started searching round for an easy-going movie that I could view. With having recently re-watched the first Insatiable title,I realised that I have somehow never got round to taking a look at the sequel.which led to me again getting ready to see Marilyn Chamber's insatiable pleasures.

The plot:

After attempting to gain her attention for months, socialite Sandra Chase is delighted to receive news that magazine writer Morgan Templeton has at last agreed to do an interview with her.Meeting Templeton,Chase finds Templeton to be deeply interested in the accuracy of the lovers which she talk about in a tell-all book.As Chase starts to confirm to Templeton that the details in her book were completely true,Chase begins to suspect that Templeton has a lustful desire which she is attempting to hide.Being enticed by Templeton's increasing intimacy towards her,Chase decides that its time she starts to unlock Templeton's deepest, most hidden desires.

View on the film:

Getting rid of the terrible attempted reasoning in the first film for Chase's Insatiable lust, the screenplay by Manny Haten (who in Stephen Tobolowsky's book The Dangerous Animals Club, claims was a fake name for his friend 'Budge') instead takes a wonderful light'N' fluffy approach. 'Budge' places the movie in a fantasy land, with the situations going from Chase kicking off an improve-3sum,to Templeton's daughter's doing some less than routine experiments with each other.

Matching the route that 'Budge' takes with the screenplay, director Stu Segall and cinematographer Jack Remy give the movie an extremely alluring, dreamy appearance, with the films appearance increasing in brightness as Chase and Templeton unleash their deepest desires.

Entering the title looking absolutely ravishing, Marilyn Chambers gives an excellent performance as Sandra Chase, with Chambers combining the glee which she shows in her deeply erotic sex scenes, with a warm, natural charm which Chambers shows as Chase tries to help Templeton to unlock her desire.Joining Chambers,Julliet Anderson gives an excellent performance as Templeton, thanks to Templeton showing a real unease in her initial meeting with Chase, which gradually melts away,as Sandra Chase reveals that she is still insatiable.
