Fun and funny , though mediocre, political satire with a likable and familiar cast
ma-cortes28 August 2022
Very mediocre and silly comedy , here outstanding the always great José Sacristán as a socialist and car teacher who's besieged by corrupt local forces . In a small Spanish town takes place a peculiar shock , the announcement of the next elections with probable triumph of the socialists led by Felipe Gonzaléz . And , above all , the political forces of center and right wing are moved by the claim that the Socialists are going to win by thrashing . Then the hunt for possible alliances starts. Each of the delegates of the center and right parties want to win the favors of the delegate of the PSOE in the area that results to be Nicolás (José Sacristán) , he's a driving school teacher and mechanic in financial difficulties , whose girlfriend (Azucéna Hernandez) desperately wishes to get married . Then he learns about a political parties will only support him as a candidate if he pursues such corrupt activities and they will stop at nothing to get his favor . As the managament staff of the main parties and the town council (Antonio Garisa, Alfonso del Real , Adrián Ortega , Rafael Hernández ..) decide that will support him to get their own interest and all of them will attempt at whatever means to be elected . Later on , a surprising event occurs in the town , the leader of the socialists himself - Felipe González- is going to attend a political celebration, then all the local population come festively to celebrate his arrival in some scenes that refer to the classic film by Luis Garcia Berlanga : ¨Bienvenido Mister Marshall¨ , paying tribute to him .

Film about electoral period , the plot is a big mess , implausible, it does not take advantage of its base of satire and tends towards a joke about equivocation and fake expectations , without much grace and with a lot of stereotypes . Amusing , but regular comedy with top-notch actors as José Sacristán, Luis Escobar , Antonio Ozores , Antonio Garisa , and being middlingly made by prolific Mariano Ozores . Typical Spanish comedy of the 80s deals with a socialist leader becomes involved in a lot of incidents , as he is usually deceived by ambitious local politician attempting to take advantage of him . The film partially portrays the society of the eighties , including a real politic satire , and being full of frivolity , egoism , duplicity , and deceits . It is a nutty Spanish comedy that offers no intellectual stimulus whatsoever , though it has some fun and hilarious moments . Humor is sometimes cheesy and gross-out with numerous naughty and picaresque situations . This hilarious as well as average film is full of humor , absurd scenes , and narrating the conflict between the traditional Spanish society in which ruled a dictatorship and modernity with free elections , though corrupt ones , at times . It is a simple , and humorous portrait of a time , how the Spanish people lived in the eighties , including ambitious , egoistic people and adding brief nudism in charge of Jenny Llada , as usual . Its nostalgic look has some passable moments that reflect a Spain in the eighties : a country in economic developing during the years when the action takes place and with a recent democracy . It is full of typical Spanish topics , a simple plot and including atmospheric sets , being shot in Madrid and surroundings . This film is made to entertain , and this movie , especially for a good time and a pleasant entertainment , including bewildering happenings . The flick packs silly incidents , funny comical sketches , tongue-in-cheek , grotesque situations and above all , it especially contains catching touches of humor and irony . Sitting in a strange middle ground between the completely absurd and the stylishly agreeable . There are some nice jokes in the film and the cast , playing eccentric characters , make a cosy fit .With a similar premise of political parody , anothr film from the same period directed by Pedro Lazaga with Antonio Ferrandis as starring : the underestimated "Vota A Gundisalvo" is much more recommendable, more comical and intelligent ; along with other political spoofs , such as : ¨Alcalde por elección¨ by Mariano Ozores , ¨Las autonosuyas¨ (1983) by Rafael Gil, ¨El alcalde y la política¨ (1980) by Luis Maria Delgado, most of them directed by Mariano Ozores , Rafael Gil and Pedro Lazaga and starred by Alfredo Landa . ¡Que vienen los socialistas!(1982) stars Joé Sacristán , one of the best and more popular Spanish actors . Being well accompanied by a great cast of familiar faces giving sympathetic acting , such as : Luis Escobar , Antonio Ozores , Alfonso del Real , Mari Carmen Prendes Antonio Garisa, Rafael Hernández , Antonio Gamero, Adrián Ortega , Emilio Forner, Raúl Sender . Adding some regular ¨Destape¨ actresses, such as Jenny Llada , Marta Valverde and Azucena Hernández .

Being professional but regularly directed by Mariano Ozores who made several flicks in similar wake . A craftsman filmmaker and writer who recently won a Goya Award (2016) to his long and fruitful career . As Mariano Ozores wrote , produced and directed several films , usually comedy genre , though he directed a Sci-fi flick : ¨La Hora Incognita¨(1964) but was a real flop and he was bankrupt . Then Mariano promised at the future only to make comedies . Although it won prize of the National Syndicate of Spectacle to best actor José Luis Ozores and Best artistic Achievement . Mariano directed 93 films , most of them were comedies , though made some dramas as "Alegre Juventud" and "Las Dos y Media y veneno" with José Luis Ozores again . Mariano directed a lot of comedies for the greatest Spanish comedians as Paco Martinez Soria , José Luis López Vázquez , Lina Morgan , Alfredo Landa , Jose Sacristán and the successful duo : Fernando Esteso and Andrés Pajares . He made with these two famous comedians , -Fernando and Andres Pajares- several films , as they had various years partnership, developing a successful artistic team between the two leads , such as ¨Agitese Antes Usarla¨ , ¨Al Este Del Oeste¨, ¨Los Liantes¨, ¨Los Energeticos¨, ¨La Lola Lleva Al Huerto¨ , ¨El Currante¨, El Hijo Del Cura¨ and especially ¨Los Bingueros¨ was one of their greatest hits . These films were charming as well as embarrassing comedies that contained crazy events , nudism , amusement , laughters and absurd situations . But also their certain importance talking about the Spanish society at the time . Their humor was sometimes cheesy and gross-out with numerous naughty and picaresque situations such as sex jokes , adulteries , jealousy , and a number of erotic scenes, but resulted to be really amusing.¡Que vienen los socialistas! (1982) rating : 5/10 , passable and acceptable comedy, but average .
