With Jean-Claude Van Damme hitting the big screen this month in Kickboxer: Vengeance (a remake of his 1989 smash hit) we decided to find out who is the greatest of the legendary Eighties action heroes. Who kicked hardest, fought longest and has the staying power to be the last man standing? Let the fight begin!
Sylvester Stallone
Evidence: Sylvester Stallone is not only an enduring action star of note – from Rambo and Rocky, Cobra to Cliffhanger, right through to The Expendables, Sly has always set the box office cash tills ringing; but he is also an Oscar-nominated writer, a director, and even a painter. There is, it seems, very little he cannot do.
Verdict: Stallone is more rennaisance man than action hero king.
Dolph Lundgren
Evidence: At 6ft 5 and built like a Sherman tank, Swedish powerhouse Lundgren has taken on James Bond and Rocky, played The Punisher, a Universal Soldier and was one of The Expendables.

Die Hard may always take all the action-movie attention around Christmas, but this year, Chuck Norris is stepping in to challenge John McClane's holiday throne. Encore has announced a marathon of classic Chuck Norris films, beginning at 1 a.m. on Dec. 24 and lasting into early Christmas morning, when Hero and Terror airs at 1:35 a.m. on Dec. 25. The marathon will air on Encore Action and include four Norris films repeated three times each. So fear not—if you happen to flip into the last half-hour of Code of Silence, Norris as cop Eddie Cusack will return later in your Christmas Eve festivities.

This weekend Rock of Ages terrorizes theaters with 1980’s rock musical overload. This seems like as good a time as any to horrify you with a musical number from a Reagan era sci-fi rock musical. Sex is the least of Voyage of the Rock Aliens' problems.
How does one go from directing Clint Eastwood as “Dirty Harry” in The Enforcer and Chuck f’ing Norris in Forced Vengeance to directing Pia Zadora, Jermaine Jackson, Craig Sheffer, and Michael Berryman in something called Voyage of the Rock Aliens?
Pia Zadora began her acting career playing a green-skinned Martian child in the 1964 holiday bad movie classic Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. Who would have ever imagined that would be the pinnacle of her career?
Twenty years later, an all grown up Pia Zadora starred in an even worse out-of-this-world musical comedy titled Voyage of the Rock Aliens directed by James Fargo...

Only one man has ever went toe-to-toe with the legendary Bruce Lee, while living to tell about it and that was Chuck Norris in Return of the Dragon. The always calm and cool Chuck Norris has since become the idealization of a bad-ass thanks to popular culture of Chuck Norris Facts and a few really good commercials, and yet when we quote these:
Chuck Norris was once shot. The bullet died.
When Chuck Norris calls 911 it’s to ask if everything is okay.
Have action fans forgot you don’t get cool by being cool, you earn it, and Chuck Norris officially started to earn his coolness factor in a series of Cannon Films productions during the mid-1980s, namely the Missing in Action series, a deeply personal set of action films for Norris. Killer Film is back with another Action Packed Flashback with director Lance Hool on his Missing in Action II: The Beginning.
