Sympathetic and attractive road movie with spontaneous and likable performances

This Oscar Ladoire film results to be an ordinary "Madrid comedy" if set mostly in Galicia. A simple and light comedy about a journey who undertakes an outbeat filmmaker. After a noisy movie premiere with a lot of people, that's why this film director decides to carry out the solitary trip. He is called Felix : Oscar Ladoire , and driving towards Galicia , on route he picks up an adolescent hitckhiker : Mercedes Resino who convinces him to accompany , while developing a peculiar and agreeable relationship . Later a series of attempts to get rid her , Felix ultimately decides to accept her particular company to go the end of the world : Finisterre

This is an essential "Madrid Comedy" , a genre that flourished in the Eighties , especially in Madrid where was developed in a vigorous manner to attract attention of critics and public , causing a long string of comedies in similar style , being its fundamental representation : "Opera Prima" 1980 by Fernando Trueba starred Oscar Ladoire , in fact this A Contratiempo was produced by Trueba himself . Earthy as welll as fun comedy with amusing elements , contrivances , entertainment, engaging and realist interpretations . It is a wistful crazy comedy , light , easy to watch , and easier to love, and forget as well . Oscar Ladoire gives a nice acting as a stressed director who attempts to find quietness and serenity by travelling to an uncertain destination . While the newcomer teenager Mercedes Resino -Andres Resino and Eva Leon's daughter- is fine as the very young rebel escaped from her home to enjoy adventures, while being pursued by a private eye hired by her mother . They are well accompanied by some familiar appearances and cameos, such as : Antonio Resines, Almudena Grandes, Beatriz Elorrieta, Gonzalo Suarez, Carlos Boyero and Fernando Vivanco-British Lesley Anne Down herself, both of whom starring the premiered film Al Caer la Noche.

It displays an atmospheric and adequate musical score, as well as evocative and colorful cinematography by prestigious Angel Luis Fernandez, being mainly shot in Madrid and Santiago de Compostela, Galicia. This lightful and acceptable picture was professionally directed by Oscar Ladoire , as the flick is entertaining and well worth your time . This is Oscar Ladoire film debut , following other flicks, such as : Esa Cosa Con Plumas and Carmen y Familia TV series . While his career as an actor has been long and prolific including several films, such as : Bajo en Nicotina ,Sal Gorda , La Noche más Hermosa, Marbella un Golpe de 5 Estrellas , De Tripas Corazón, Biba la Banda! , El Viaje a Ninguna Parte , Las Edades de Lulú, Disparate Nacional, Carreteras Secundarias , En La Puta Calle , El Furgón, Pagafantas , Negociador and many others . Rating : 6/10. Passable and acceptable but neither notable, nor extraordinary . The picture will appeal to Spanish cinema fans.
