Sex & Nudity

  • Wife cooks a candlelight dinner for husband, plays romantic music and and they end up in the bedroom with sex implied. She later reveals she is pregnant.

  • There is one slang reference to a woman's breasts. A high-school jock tells a cheerleader he's good at the breast stroke.

Violence & Gore

  • A brawl in a bowling alley is depicted, with various injuries and substantial damage.
  • After being casually insulted by his new employer, one character vandalizes the business's time clock and quits.
  • The main character is deliberately injured by a group of cyclists who find his attitude irritating. The injury is not serious, but causes him some pain for a while.
  • Several characters chase a man who they mistakenly believe has been flirting with the girlfriend of one of them. The end of the chase is not depicted, and it is unclear whether they catch or harm him.
  • Someone's mother makes a questionable joke about possibly strangling her adult child while he's asleep (see the trailer).The main character crashes on his bike and blood is shown. It's not too gory, but again, it may frighten some younger or squeamish viewers. Blood is shown running down a leg (not dripping, but still there).

  • There are numerous uses of the phrase "God d----". At least one 1 h-word. Use of a slang description of a woman's breasts. A few other profanities spoken throughout the film.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • One of the main characters always has a cigarette in his mouth and salutes the Marlboro cigarette billboard. He does mention that he does not light the cigarette because he wants to stay in shape, but he always carries one.
  • The main character tries to light a women's cigarette, but he fails. He then says "you shouldn't smoke!"

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The main character's father gets angry in one scene, followed by a cut to him being attended by a doctor at home, suggesting he may have suffered a mild heart attack or similar medical problem.
  • A person gets injured, hitting his head and showing some blood. There is concern he may drown. There is another time when a group of friends fear one of them may have drowned, having seen him swim into a submerged refrigerator without re-emerging, but the person is okay (it was a prank, as the refrigerator had no back). That scene is brief and the suspense is short-lived but this may frighten younger viewers, as it shows the boy underwater.
  • The main character crashes on his bike and blood is shown. It's not too gory, but again, it may frighten some younger or squeamish viewers.
