Antology picture dealing with the repressive life during Francisco Franco period
ma-cortes26 February 2023
Through various episodes and in similar style to further ¨El florido pensil¨ (2002) by Juan José Porto we are shown sexual repression and desire at the same time, in the Spanish of yesteryear for the dictatorship time . So-so comedy set in the Sixties providing a sour and ironical critic to the social habits, repression and Catholic religion . However , the film focuses on naughty and embarrassing incidents with penchant for sordid scenes , discorcenting situations , ridiculousness , nudism , sleaziness and exaggeration. The episodes are as follows : The first episode deals with the O. J. E teens when at the campaments by the night they proceed to carry out some impure vices. Another deals with a tremendously absurd situation between a dog and a woman. The following about the alleged Hispanic male, in which a playboy (José Antonio Ceinos) has a appointment with a popular actress (Maria Rey) , while filming the sexual encounter , but things do not work as they should. Another one is the famous case of Archidona that was also filmed in ¨La insólita y gloriosa hazaña del cipote de Archidona¨ (1979) by Ramón Fernandez. The following concerning a very traditional Catholic father (Carlos Lucena) finds out that his little son is gay, then things result in fateful consequences . And one about adultery in which a husband (Alfred Lucchetti) finds out his wife (Maria Rubio) is sleeping with the doctor , so he agrees with the notary, the civil guard, a photographer and others to catch her red-handed or in fraganti.

It displays an atmospheric and evocative musical score , including traditional songs , such as : ¨Mirando al mar¨ by M. Amor and C. De Haro , performed by Jorge Sepúlveda ; ¨No presumas de insensible¨ by Francisco Codoñer 'Maestro Lito' ; ¨Montañas nevadas¨ by Enrique Franco ; ¨Carita de ángel¨ by Francisco Codoñer 'Maestro Lito' and Bonet de San Pedro ; ¨Somos las chicas alegres¨ by José Dolz . As well as lousy cinematography by Tomàs Pladevall , being necessary a perfect remastering because the film copy is worn-out . Being shot on various llocations in Madrid, Archidona, Málaga, Guadix, Granada, Andalucía, Barcelona, Barcelona, Vic, Barcelona,Catalonia, Spain . The picture was badly directed by Juan Bosch, containing a lot of flaws , failures and gaps. This craftsman Juan Bosch was a Spanish writer/filmmaker who so consistently mixed the good with the mediocre that it became quite impossible to know what to expect from him next . Bosch was a Spanish artisan who wrote and directed films of all kinds of genres such as Spaghetti Western : "Dallas", "God in heaven Arizona on Earth", "And the crows will dig your grave" , "My horse my gun your widow", "Ciudad Maldita", "Stagecoach of the condemned", "They believed he was no Saint" . Comedy : " Mauricio mon amour" , "40 años sin sexo", "Caray con el divorcio", "Rolls para Hipolito" . Terror : " Secta Siniestra" and Giallo : "The killer with a thousand eyes", "The killer wore gloves" . Rating 4/10. .
