Plot Summary

In the third century of the second calendar, a corrupt galactic federation, with Earth at its centre, Narcotises its billions of citizens into placid submission. A rebel named Roj Blake, who once tried to organise a resistance group to overthrow the regime, was caught and his memories wiped. But Blake's revolutionary spirit is revived when he witnesses a mass slaughter by police which is covered up by officials. He escapes on-board a prison ship, and together with a lovable band of outlaws, takes over a vacant alien space cruiser of awesome drive capability. Christening their ship, "The Liberator", Blake and his group travel the Milky Way to seek any opportunity to undermine the corrupt regime. Written by Kevin McCorry

Trivia Gareth Thomas and Tom Baker always wanted to do a cross-over between Doctor Who (1963) and "Blake's 7" (with the two heroes passing each other in a corridor, exchanging greetings) but this was vetoed by producers of both series. Indeed the invasion from Andromeda at the end of the second season was originally going to be invasion by Doctor Who's Daleks, also created by Terry Nation. See more »
Goofs In many episodes the team transport down to a particular place then walk, sometimes long distances, to their final destination past security guards, cameras etc. Also Vila is frequently called upon to use his 'hacking' skills to open various locks and doors. But in many cases there is no reason why they could not have just transported down to where they wanted to go in the first place. To get past a locked door it is simply a matter of returning to the Liberator and then back to the other side of the door. See more »
