One Shot Real LIfe Archie show stuck with me for Months!
richard.fuller17 May 2002
Starring Dennis Bowen, he best known as Todd, the preppie on Welcome Back, Kotter for a year or two, the rival of John Travolta, and Melanie Thompson, best known as the girl at Six Flags that Greg Brady flirted with in the Brady Bunch episode when the family went to that park, this real life Archie series was light, amusing and had original skits. The gang was expanded to include Ethel, Moose and Midge in the band, when the group sang at the end of the show. Skits included: Archie and Betty trying to behave when they had the Cooper household all to themselves, The boys crashing the girls' slumber party at the Lodge mansion, Archie and Reggie learning Jughead's real name was 'Steve' (the school secretary looked like a staple of late sixties, early seventies sitcoms; rich wives, teachers and the like), The funniest skit was Archie and Reggie trying to help Veronica remember where she may have left her concert tickets. Archie's one line "Shouldn't you put those tickets in your pocket so you DON'T LOSE THEM?" and Reggie's re-enactments, especially at the bank as the teller, were too hysterical. NOt a bad program. Aired this one time. Was very funny to me. Not to be confused with the later real life Archie offering with Christopher Rich, Lauren Holly, David Doyle and Fran Ryan.
