Though ostensibly a remake of the 1931 "Dracula", the 1979 film is distinctly inspired by the BBC version, most evidently in the depiction of Dracula as a suave, semi-benevolent seducer whose female victims are always complicit. In the bedroom scene, the line "I need your blood. I need..." is pulled directly from the BBC version (It is not in the book). The confrontation scenes between Harker, Helsing, and Dracula in both versions are also very similar: especially Dracula's parting boast that Mina is "mine already".
