Outline of the film and it's continuing relevance.
lcmc20004 May 2002
This movie recounts a portion of one of the largest frauds in insurance and stock market history, the US$200 million Equity Funding Corporation of America(Los Angeles) fraud. This film deals with the creation, maintenance and coinsurance of bogus insurance policies by means of the computer. The methods used in the deception, the reasons for continuing and the attitude of those involved are superbly portrayed by the cast. A movie which is as relevant today as when it was made and which provides entertainment and understanding of how these things happen.....perhaps because this film should have been shown more often, which it no doubt would have been were it available in VHS/DVD.

a great movie

it was only 20 yrs ahead of the ENRON mess and the TYCO CRASH.and others to come.EQUITY paved the way for others to follow..the use of computers, which was new in 1969 to start then cover up a fraud that went into the millions that would be billions today was something not done back then..it is now required at all cpa courses nation wide..to watch this movie to see how it was done. the movie was great the acting first rate it put you in the middle of the great times when every thing clicked and the fear of watching the police come through the door straight to your office,, it is bizarre how a little plan blew up to destroy a corporation.
