Enjoyable fim in "Marcelino Pan y Vino" style, with an agreeable religious story, colorful images and good feeling .it is set in a small fishing town where lives an orphan boy , Nino del Arco, who is protected by a sympathetic, happy go lucky fisherman, Paolo Gozlino. And both of whom enjoy, dance and sing at the noisy village party . When the latter embarks on a boat to go fishing, the little boy stands alone, but then on the beach appears a wood Christ , and, subsequently, he meets a mysterious person : Leonard Mann, at a sea cave. Then the villagers are about to witness wonderful miracles about an image of Christ thanks to the deep friendship between a loner boy and a weird, wise person . But the gossips among the townfolks make things hard for the kid fate, as authorities have to decide either send him to an orphanage or stands at the location along with the teacher and his friends, them the miracles begin happening.

This an attractive film in the wake of the Religious Genre of the 40s and 50s, concerning a good kid whose father passed away and his mother is at a mental institution, while he is being protected by a handsome, friendly man : Paolo Gozlino and a beautiful teacher : Pilar Velazquez. Nino del Arco plays the likeable lonely boy who feels really alone in the world when his foster father has to abandon him for a fishing job while he finds an unexpected surprise at the beach. Nino del Arco is especially known for playing Fistful of Dollars along with Clint Eastwood. Paolo Gozlino plays well the happy young who enjoys life and guarding his adopted son. Leonard Mann performs a stranger person who holds a wonderful secret. Support cast is frankly good, such as : Roberto Camardiel as the kind priest, Perla Cristal as the fisherman's girlfriend, José Suarez, Goyo Lebrero as the Sacristan, Jose Luis Martin, Emilio Rodriguez, among others

It contains a sensitive and rousing musical score by the Italian Bruno Nicolai, usual collaborator to Ennio Morricone. Special mention for the cinematography by Giovanni Bergamini, showing marvelous sightseeing from Luarca and Cudillero, Asturias, where the film was shot. The motion picture was professionaly directed by Ramon Fernandez. Ramon was a prolific artisan who directed all kinds of genres, such as thrillers : Rueda de sospechosos , 7 minutos para morir, La muerte ronda a Monica , Westerns : Las mujeres de Jeremias, Musical: Las aventuras de Enrique y Ana, A Tope . Rating 6/10. Acceptable and passable.
