Well paced and spectacular warlike movie set in the Spanish Civil War with stunning battle scenes

Very good wartime movie dealing with the Spanish Civil War , set in 1938 , in battle of Ebro , Aragón Front . It follows the merciless feats of a valiant squadron , some courageous soldiers to destroy a valuable bridge . There a Republican position surrounds a little town where a vital bridge is heavily defended by Nationalist troops . A captain (Daniel Martin) takes the command the garrison where our Alferez starring (Simón Andreu) is assigned by the Republic command a lethal order : they have decided to blow up a bridge across river Ebro , as the Alferez names some soldiers who will accompany him to the deadly mission . But the Alferez is really an avenger who has his own agenda , that's why he wants to execute a merciless vendetta against the local leader (Fernando Sancho) . As the revenger Alferez and his soldiers have taken the advanced location that protects the ford of a river. While the Nationalists attempt to prevent the Republicans to occupy it . At the end the Republic troops trying to take the National bridge by themselves at a bloody battle , but things go wrong .

This moving film packs frantic thrills , perilous attacks , relentless feats , and buck-loads of explosive action and violence . The noisy action is uniformly well-made , especially deserving of mention the rip-roaring final scenes in which the motley group is really besieged , including some spectacular shootouts and bombing on the bridge .Notable warlike movie original and competently shot by José Antonio de la Loma . Plenty of attractive travellings when the soldiers attack and take advantage at night and the spectacular final scenes on the bridge . It is a worthwhile effort with some good battle sequences and a lot of explosions and shots . This pretty good movie delivers a nice description during the Spanish Civil War 36-39 in which violent and blood deeds happen on both sides . The producers thanksgiving to Spanish Army for the realization of this splendid flick . It is really influenced by American war films and Hollywood directors as Samuel Fuller, Raoul Walsh, Anthony Mann , William A Wellman and their top-notch warfare movies .The film gives an interesting character studio and magnificent interpretations from Simón Andreu as the avenger Alferez , while daniel Martin is is good as a honorable and upright captain . Support cast is frankly magnificent full of notorious secondaries of the 60s and 70s such as the beautiful Patty Shepard , Frank Braña , Rafael Hernandez , Antonio Casas ,José Calvo, Oscar Pellicer , Carlos Vasallo , Alberto Fernández , Jaume Picas , Adriano Domínguez and the great Fernando Sancho.

It displays an evocative musical score by Gianni Marchetti , including some popular and military Spanish songs sung by the 'Orfeón de Sans' . As well as atmospheric cinematography by Mario Pacheco shot on location in Ballobar, Huesca, Aragón, and Balcazar studios , Barcelona , Spain . Shot by the creator of ¨Quinqui sub-genre¨ , Jose Antonio De La Loma , this Golpe de mano (Explosión) is without a doubt his best movie . It's made with professionality , providing expect action sequences and tension enough . It won some prizes as National Syndicate of Spectacle, Spain 1969 Winner Best Film and Best Supporting Actor Rafael Hernández . De la Loma filmed the successful trilogy : ¨Perros Callejeros I , II¨ and ¨Ultimos Golpes Del Torete¨ and he even made a female version : ¨Perras Callejeras¨ . His style is pretty much urban and realistic as well in the atmosphere as in the fresh dialog and attempted to take a position in favor of outcast people . Jose Antonio De La Loma chose young and natural actors as Angel Fernandez Franco ¨Torete¨ and Bernard Seray who played their parts to the hilt , unafraid of filmmaker's unsympathetic camera and the particularity of the characters . In ¨Perros Callejeros¨ series we see their troubles growing in such streets , slums or "barrios" from Barcelona and outskirts and other coastal places and some fine locations . In these films Jose Antonio De La Loma showed the ugliness of those "barrios" , toughness and cold existence . In his youthful De La Loma worked as a teacher in the Chinese barrio of Barcelona and he lived poorness and isolation . As he hired true delinquents who used their peculiar slang and particular behaves , all of them give a certain realism to these offbeat films . ¨Tres Dias De Libertad¨ was absurdly directed by Juan Antonio De La Loma who had a long career including titles as a writer and a filmmaker in all kinds of genres , as Western : ¨Professional for a massacre¨ ,¨Texas Kid¨ ,¨Clint the solitary¨ , ¨Return of Clint¨, ¨The last Mohican¨, ¨Seven pistols for Timothy¨ , ¨Viva Carrancho¨, ¨The Boldest job in the West¨, ¨Blood at sundown¨or ¨Porque Seguir Matando¨ and Action : ¨Metralleta Stein¨ , ¨Razzia¨ , ¨Explosion¨ , Squadron: Counterforce¨or "Playing with Death" , ¨Goma 2¨ , ¨Tony Carrera¨, "Playboy to Kill" and several others .
