Psychedelic adventure with action , cartoon , brilliant images and a lot of songs sung by the famous band ¨Los Bravos¨
ma-cortes25 May 2016
This film packs strange situations , swift frames , twists , turns and attractive images made in a sort-of psychedelic manner ; but it especially contains popular entertainment and naif amusement . It deals with Mike Kennedy , lead singer of the rock musical band called the fab ¨Los Bravos¨ (one of the first Spanish bands performing in English language and formed by Manolo Fernández , Miguel Vicens , Pablo Sanllehi , Tony Martínez) is abducted by the hoodlums (Alvaro De Luna , Jose Luis Coll and several others) of the sinister Chou-Fang (Luis Peña) , a stiff follower of the malicious doctrines of the known villainous Fu-Manchu . But Chou-Fang is really interested in ruling over the world by means of a chemical formula to dominate the wills of the powerful international leaders . This formula is created by a kidnapped scientific whose daughter (Rosanda Monteros of ¨The magnificent seven¨) has been tortured by Chou-Fang . The professor's daughter , gorgeous Sao-Ling , believes Mike Kennedy is a super-hero and he , then , becomes involved into the dangerous adventure , but things go awry . Meanwhile , his remaining colleagues think that Mike imagines fantastic craziness .

The Braves's first film is a joyous romp through a passable adventure starred by Mke Kennedy . This is is an exciting action/musical comedy narrated in psychedelic comic pop style , including cartoon images and Rotoscope frames . It packs groovy scenarios , brawls , thrills , wild effects , strident and gaudy sets and a lot of human and car pursuits in silent cinema wake . And , of course , it has quite a few songs composed and performed by ¨Los Bravos¨ , the notorious band of the sixties who achieved a big international success with their big hit : ¨Black is Black¨. As the songs they played in ¨Dame Un Poco De Amooor¨ are the followings : ¨Bring a little lovin'¨, ¨You've got until the morning¨, ¨Deeper roots with fire make it last¨ , ¨She's my girl¨ and ¨Like nobody else¨ and many of them composed by Adolfo Waitzman . Colorfully paced by José Maria Forqué , being supported by Francisco Macián (from Moro studios) , the awesome genius of the Spanish animation who created some original sequences and whose technique to be taken by ¨Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the rings¨ . Macián directed two segments titled : ¨Play with fire¨ and the groundbreaking animated sequence towards the final titled ¨Bring a little Lovin¨ . Besides , a glimmer and shimmer cinematography by Francisco Sempere . The main cast gives sympathetic acting . And the support cast is frankly extraordinary , such as : Laly Soldevila , Luis Peña , Álvaro De Luna , Rafaela Aparicio , Tomás Zori , Blaki , and ¨Tip and Coll¨ but this time Fernando Sanchez Polack , ¨Tip¨ makes a likable with Venancio Muro and Jose Luis Coll plays as a Chinese underling .

The motion picture was amusingly directed by prolific filmmaker Jose Maria Forqué and shot in comic book style and with great flair , being noted as one of the first Spanish music videos . As "Bring a Little Loving" or ¨Dame Un Poco De Amooor¨ is full of video-clips realized in Richard Lester's ¨Help¨ and ¨A hard day's night¨ style . Here Forqué carries out a decent , nimble and professional direction , though including some flaws and gaps . José María Forqué was born in Zaragoza , being father of actress Verónica Forqué and director Álvaro Forqué . He was a director and writer, known for filming some classic Spanish films , such as : ¨Un Millon En La Basura¨ (1967) , ¨Accidente 703¨ (1962) , ¨Amanecer en Puerta Oscura¨ (1957) , ¨Embajadores En Infierno¨ (1956) and especially ¨Atraco a Las Tres¨ (1962) . And shot successful TV series : ¨Miguel Servet¨ and ¨Ramon Y Cajal¨ . He also filmed some international co-productions such as ¨Tarot¨ with Gloria Grahame , Sue Lyon , Fernando Rey , ¨Mujer De Tierra Caliente¨ with Stuart Whitman , Laura Gemser , Paola Senatore , "It's Nothing Bad, Mama, It's Only a Game" with David Hemmings , Alda Valli , ¨A Devil Under the Pillow¨ with Ingrid Thulin, Gabriele Ferzetti , Maurice Ronet and ¨El Ojo Del Huracan¨ or ¨In the eye of hurricane¨ with Tony Kendall , Jean Sorel , among others .

Rare, fun and colorful Spanish rock comedy!
BRAINIAC-29 January 2007
This wild rock-n-roll spy comedy starring Spanish rockers "Los Bravos" plays almost like a hyper-paced extended Spanish "Monkees" t.v. episode but with really decent production values! The Los Bravos music is a bit on the "pop" side of rock-n-roll but still has it's charm. There are some wild psychedelic effects, some very groovy sets and an awesome animated sequence towards the end done in a sort-of psychedelic rotoscope style! Los Bravos perform several of their hits and if you are a fan you will want to seek this one out. I'd love to see a DVD release of this with English language subtitles but I'm not holding my breath.
