Actress Vidya Malvade was impressed when she reached her destination in just 25 minutes by taking the newly-inaugurated Coastal Road in Mumbai. Vidya took to her Instagram stories and shared a video from her car.
In the video, the actress is seen asking her driver if the tunnel, which spans two kilometers and connects Marine Drive and the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, goes under the sea. To which, her driver responds with a “yes.”
Having a childlike excitement, the actress, who is known for her role in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Chak De! India’, said: “I am so surprised and very happy also…. Mereko bahut excitement ho raha hai.”
Vidya captioned the clip: “Mumbai mei tunnel… I am actually excited. Reached Marine Drive in 25 minutes from Bandra.”
Earlier, megastar Amitabh Bachchan had shared that he was “stunned” by the tunnel and called it a “marvel”.

Steelkrill Studio is back again after dabbling in cosmic horror with Rotten Flesh. This time around, they’re taking the unorthodox approach to the Stealth and Survival Horror genres with Baby Blues Nightmares, casting you as a toddler on a tricycle.
Available for wishlisting on Steam, Baby Blues Nightmares is described as having you do what it takes in order to survive as a child and their vivid imagination (or is it?). As a brave toddler, you must navigate through the corridors and dimly lit playrooms to recover your five beloved toys, all while trying to unravel the mysteries that shroud the facility.
Luckily, you have your trusty trike with which to get around. You must fix and maintain your tricycle, but you can also customize your wheels, as well as paint your trike and find collectables to pimp it out. As you might expect, the game has you seeing...

Director Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2, Mayhem), screenwriter Dennis Paoli – who worked on the screenplays for the Stuart Gordon-directed H.P. It’s taken four years for Triumph of Death — the quartet that former Celtic Frost frontman Tom G. Warrior launched to celebrate his first band, Hellhammer — to release a music video, but they’ve done so just in time for Halloween. The clip presents a live performance of “Massacra,” a galloping black-metal blast off Hellhammer’s Apocalyptic Raids EP from 1984. “Away is the suuuuun,” Warrior bellows in the chorus. “Endless the night/Mankind’s massacra/Intelligence is dead.” The performance, which features on the band’s upcoming debut album, Resurrection of the Flesh,...

“Suitable Flesh” bears a parting dedication to Stuart Gordon, who passed away in 2020 and is certainly missed, especially after watching this campy concoction, which revisits his beloved H.P. Lovecraft territory minus the late screen genre specialist’s knack for welding grotesque horror content to a black comedy tone.
There are some yuks (and yucks) to be had in his frequent writing collaborator Dennis Paoli’s very loose, gender-reversed riff on the cult fantasist’s lesser-regarded 1933 short story “The Thing on the Doorstep.” But director Joe Lynch haplessly plays much of this supernatural tale as an erotic thriller, the uncertainty of satirical intent leaving his actors looking silly. Releasing to limited theaters and streaming platforms on Oct. 27, it’s a movie best watched after a few libations, which might make more of the laughs play as deliberate.

Suitable Flesh director Joe Lynch has the resilience one needs to be an indie genre director.
Lynch’s new horror film starring Heather Graham and Barbara Crampton is currently sporting his best reviews since his certified fresh action-horror film, Mayhem (2017). Suitable Flesh spiritually picks up where Crampton left off in the ‘80s, alongside director Stuart Gordon and screenwriter Dennis Paoli. Their H.P. Lovecraft adaptations, Re-Animator and From Beyond, have long been considered cult classics, and once Crampton proposed the idea of adapting Lovecraft’s The Thing on the Doorstep into Suitable Flesh, a project Gordon and Paoli had once developed, Lynch knew he had to pay tribute his heroes and their Miskatonic University-verse.
“The more I got ensconced in it, the more it felt like a natural extension of what these guys did before. It allowed me to respectfully take the baton from Stuart and run with it by tethering to this bigger world,...

Ordinary events are imbued with a poignancy in this documentary showing the fragile power of community and identity in a Belarusian village
Cast in a subdued, beige-toned palette, the tableau-like compositions in Kristina Savutsina’s documentary portrait of a small Belarusian village echo the wry sensibility found in the work of Swedish director Roy Andersson. Like in the latter’s output, Khan’s Flesh traffics in the mundanities of everyday life, where ordinary events also hold the capacity for poignancy and irony.
Throughout this crisp 57-minute film, the camera remains static, yet the highly associative editing creates a sense of movement and rhythm out of stillness. Moving from one ordinary space to another – a hospital bed, a church, a community meeting room, even a graveyard – Khan’s Flesh manages to elicit a kind of circular totality out of a constellation of minute gestures. At once simple and monumental, images of reunion and separation,...

Stars: Heather Graham, Barbara Crampton, Johnathon Schaech, Bruce Davison, Drake Malone, Judah Lewis | Written by Dennis Paoli | Directed by Joe Lynch
Directed by FrightFest favourite Joe Lynch, Suitable Flesh is a deliberate homage to the work of director Stuart Gordon (who died in 2020), specifically his adaptations of the stories of H.P. Lovecraft, such as Re-Animator, From Beyond and Castle Freak. Sadly, though it definitely has its moments, the end result is something of a mixed bag.
Set in the Miskatonic University hospital facility (where Re-Animator took place), the film begins with psychiatrist Dr Danielle Upton (longtime Gordon collaborator and all-around horror superstar Barbara Crampton) investigating her disturbed psych ward patient Elizabeth (Heather Graham), also a former psychiatrist. As Elizabeth relates her tale, flashbacks reveal that she became obsessed with handsome young patient Asa Waite (Judah Lewis), who was suffering with paranoid delusions.
However, it soon becomes clear that Asa is something far more sinister,...

A couple years ago, screenwriter Peter Atkins – who worked on the scripts for the first three Hellraiser sequels – published his original screenplay for the famously troubled fourth film, Hellraiser: Bloodline (the script is available for purchase at This Link), saying, “Whilst you’ll never get to see a Director’s Cut of Hellraiser: Bloodline, you can read in this book what was supposed to be…” But even though the production was too complicated for us to ever see a proper director’s cut, there is a “newly uncovered workprint version” – and it’s going to be included in Arrow Video’s upcoming 4K box set release of the first four Hellraiser movies!

Aside from being two of the most prominent classic rock bands, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin don’t have much in common. Blues music inspired their early music, and they both came up with unique and unusual band names. Look beyond the surface, though, and you’ll find a hidden connection between Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd — their epic live shows.
Epic concerts were the secret connection between Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd achieved rather sudden commercial success when “Arnold Layne” and “See Emily Play” became top-20 hits in the first half of 1967. Those two early songs helped put them on the map. Still, for the die-hard fans, Pink Floyd concerts defined the band.
Drummer Nick Mason said their groundbreaking early shows were mostly rubbish with a few good ideas pulled from the ether here and there. Yet Floyd’s long-form jams, light show that seemed to pulsate with the music,...

Emerging electro-industrial artist Babychaos has unveiled the video for her latest single “Guilty Hands (I Bleed),” which is premiering exclusively via Heavy Consequence as part of Industrial Week.
In the vein of contemporaries such as Poppy, Babychaos blends harsh electronics with overt industrial rock/metal elements, such as distorted guitars and vocals. For example, “Guilty Hands (I Bleed)” melds a burgeoning guitar riff with subtle electronic flourishes, resulting in a jolting loud-soft arrangement and unsettling atmospherics.

The Sacrifice Game, from director Jenn Wexler, receiving its European premiere, is the closing night film. The festival has described the film as a wild, thrilling ride and a tribute to the beauty and boldness of classic 1970s horror.
This year the festival will host seven world premieres, including Nick Psinakis’s Cheat, Matt Sampere’s Halloween slasher Creeping Death, Raymond Wood’s feminist revenge-fantasy Faceless After Dark, Steven Pierce’s zombie survivalist thriller Herd, and Michael J. Hurst’s wild science fiction shocker Transmission.

Manny Coto, the Cuban-born writer and producer who received an Emmy for his work on 24 and spent four seasons on American Horror Story and two more on American Horror Stories, has died. He was 62.
Coto, whose childhood love of Star Trek and Super-8 moviemaking led to a 40-year career in film and television, died Sunday at his home in Pasadena after a 13-month battle with pancreatic cancer, a family spokesperson announced.
Coto also worked on the final two seasons of Upn’s Star Trek: Enterprise (2003-05) and on the final three seasons of Showtime’s Dexter (2010-13). Taking the reins on the former as showrunner in season four, he was called an unsung hero, creating a run of episodes that returned classic elements to his beloved franchise.

When reality blurs with her morbid fantasies, she goes down a dark path to seek the final piece of the case’s puzzle.
The Nicolas Cage-starrer Sympathy for the Devil will have its international premiere at Fantasia. The Tribeca Festival is nearly here, taking place June 7 to June 18, and it brings a packed slate of screenings and premieres.
The festival’s 22nd edition offers a hybrid experience of virtual and in-person, with notable genre programming dedicated to repertory screenings that include Re-Animator to upcoming premieres. In other words, Tribeca’s bringing the horror this year.
Here are five titles we can’t wait to see at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
Bad Things (United States) – World Premiere
In this haunting thriller, a new variation of psychological horror invites audiences to question the limitations of our contemporary relationships with people and spaces, and the implications of undealt trauma.
Written/Directed by Stewart Thorndike. Gayle Rankin, Hari Nef, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, and Rad Pereira star.
Why we’re excited: Haunted hotels and fragile minds pair well together in horror, as The Shining classically demonstrated.

Universal’s Dracula comedy Renfield (read our review Here), starring Nicolas Cage as Dracula and Nicholas Hoult as his titular lackey, was a box office disaster, pulling in just $25 million worldwide… which is a shame, because the movie is a lot of fun. Maybe it will reach more of an audience when it receives a digital, Blu-ray, and DVD release on June 6th – and Universal is doing their best to make sure viewers will check it out, giving it a “Dracula Sucks Edition” release that will be packed with extras!
Based on a treatment written by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Renfield was directed by Chris McKay (The Tomorrow War) from a screenplay by Ryan Ridley (Rick and Morty). In Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula, R.M. Renfield was an inmate at a lunatic asylum who was thought to be suffering from delusions but actually is a servant of Dracula.

To be honest, I was feeling a little apprehensive about the roughly five-hour-long Dead Island 2 demo I recently got the chance to play. I enjoyed (but certainly didn’t love) the original Dead Island, and the sequel’s rocky development certainly raised a few red flags. Besides, we’re not exactly hurting for zombie games. I just couldn’t imagine how Dead Island 2 was going to separate itself from the horde.
As it turns out, the game almost instantly stood out by virtue of following the example set by one of my favorite zombie films ever: 1985’s The Return of the Living Dead.
Essentially an early meta-horror movie, Return of the Living Dead takes place in a world where the Night of the Living Dead film exists (its actual connections to that franchise are fascinating and complicated). One day, a worker at a medical supply warehouse is trying to impress...

If they ever make a sequel to “The Celluloid Closet” — the landmark doc about the history of LGBT representation on screen — Lukas Gage should warrant at least two mentions. First, there’s the scene from the first season of “White Lotus” where Jake Lacy barges into the resort manager’s office, only to find Gage getting his salad tossed (a history-making moment for gay TV fans). And now there’s “Down Low,” an over-the-top, bottom-trawling comedy that wants to be for the gay community what “The Hangover” was to the mainstream — which is to say, wildly irreverent and incredibly wrong.
Starring openly gay “Heroes” villain Zachary Quinto as Gary, a recently divorced, richie-rich zaddy hoping for a happy ending, “Down Low” doesn’t quite understand its own title — code within the Black and Latino community for men who consider themselves straight while having sex with other men — but that’s Ok.

If conception and birth are always present themes in Gaspar Noé's cinema, death is equally important for him: “When you write your sentence, you always put a dot at the end. Talking about death is just putting a dot at the end of your sentence.” For example, the France-based filmmaker developed a passage from his first feature film, I Stand Alone, in a nursing home and emphasized the bleak thoughts about old age and death of the butcher played by Philippe Nahon, the character who appeared for the first time in the medium-length film Carne. For the iconic Enter the Void, Noé took inspiration from The Tibetan Book of the Dead and captured a psychedelic astral trip in first person after the murder of the...

New Delhi, Jan 18 (Ians) Akshay Oberoi has been a part of Bollywood for almost a decade now. He agrees that the acting profession is difficult and can knock down people multiple times.
In his decade long journey in Hindi cinema, Akshay has starred in films such as "Pizza", "Gurgaon" and "Kaalakaandi". He has also made a name for himself in the digital space, with web projects like "The Test Case", "Hum Tum And Them" and "Flesh".
Talking about the industry being a brutal place, as it defines an actor on the basis of hits and misses, Akshay told Ians: "It is brutal but that is the industry world over. It's not just Bollywood. In any cinematic industry, this is the way it works. It is an art made for commerce. So, if your part is not done well you don't have any takers."

Each year, Variety staff pick 10 short films screening at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, either from competition or from the event’s multiple prestigious sidebars, which attendees should take care not to miss.
This year, with the entirety of the short film competition on the festival’s digital platform, animation fans from almost anywhere in the world can count themselves among attendees for the cost of a €15 ($16.87) accreditation.
France is, predictably, well represented on this year’s list and in competition in general. Canada came in big this year with “The Physics of Sorrow” and “I, Barnabé,” both backed by public broadcaster Office National du Film du Canada (Onf), as did Spain – “Homeless Home” and “Carne.”
This year’s list skews older than previous selections, although some family friendly content did make the cut: DreamWorks’ “To: Gerard” and Dandelooo’s “Shooom’s Odyssey,” mirroring the competition selection. Another quantifiable...

Eros International, India’s largest and most controversial film distributor, says that its digital revenues now outstrip conventional theatrical and syndication revenues. Its Eros Now streaming platform claims 18.8 million paying subscribers.
The New York-listed company reported annual results that were distorted by multiple adjustments to presentation. Reported revenues in the year to end of March 2019 edged ahead by 3% to $270 million.
Operating profits were halved at $27.8 million, but adjusted earnings jumped from $83 million to $104 million. And the company took a huge, non-cash, impairment loss of $423 million. The company said that the write-down reflected a reduction in its market capitalization and a valuation of its film rights. But on a conference call following the release of data, chairman Kishore Lulla said that the charge could be reversed if the market capitalization increases again.

Macro’s TV series slate includes Gentefied, a half-hour bilingual dramedy from Marvin Lemus and Linda Yvette Chávez for Netflix; Raising Dion, also for Netflix; Dawn, an adaptation of Octavia E. Marta Fernandez is exiting Starz where she most recently served as Evp Originals Programming. Fernandez, a 12-year Starz veteran, is leaving to pursue other opportunities. I hear she has been in talks with Charles D. King’s production company Macro.
Fernandez’s exit comes amid an executive transition at the pay cable network following the departure of CEO Chris Albrecht earlier this year as Starz and Lionsgate recently accelerated their integration with the merging of several TV operations. (Original programming was not one of them).
In her most recent role, to which Fernandez was named in December, Fernandez expanded her leadership within the originals team while continuing to spearhead the network’s inclusion initiatives across the slate. She had focused on female-forward programming, overseeing new development and current productions for the network including original series Vida and American Gods as well as the upcoming series from playwright Katori Hall, P-Valley.

The writer-director’s story of a British female wrestler striving to make it big in the Us winningly balances oddball humour with affection for the antics of the WWE
“These are big movies,” insists Michael Lerner’s studio boss in the Coen brothers’ 1991 hit Barton Fink, “about big men – in tights, both physically and mentally!” He’s trying to explain to John Turturro’s angsty writer the inherent parameters of a wrestling movie, insisting: “We don’t put Wally Beery in a fruity movie about suffering.” Yet just as William Faulkner reportedly did uncredited rewrites on Beery’s 1932 picture Flesh, so writer-director Stephen Merchant here manages to subvert the genre and inject some of “that Barton Fink feeling” into this uplifting romp. Inspired by Max Fisher’s similarly titled Channel 4 documentary about a Norwich wrestling clan, Fighting With My Family is a hugely likable underdog tale, packing plenty of crowd-pleasing comedy wallop,...

Actress Swara Bhasker is undergoing action workshops with action directors to prepare for the role of a police officer in crime thriller series "Flesh".
An Eros Now's show, "Flesh" revolves around the global human trafficking industry and how a police officer takes matters onto herself.
"It's exciting and obviously intimidating as well. Brave and honest police officers are the real heroes of our society and it has been a real learning experience to know about the challenges and limitations within which cops in India operate," Swara said in a statement.
"I think that women in the forces - whether it's the armed forces or law enforcement agencies - are very special because as a society we expect men to be protectors and enforcers and women to be providers. So female police officers are actually stretching the limits of traditionally prescribed gender roles and I find that very inspiring," she added.

Starz has promoted Marta Fernandez to Evp of Originals Programming from her Svp role.
“Marta has done an excellent job of developing premium content and diverse talent and has been a great representative for Starz in our goal of serving underserved audiences,” said Carmi Zlotnik, President of Programming Starz, a Lionsgate company. “We are pleased to be able to acknowledge her dedication and continuing contribution to the network.”
Based in the company’s Santa Monica office, Fernandez will expand her leadership role within the originals team while continuing to spearhead the network’s inclusion initiatives across the slate. She will also continue to expand the drive toward female-forward programming, overseeing new development and current productions for the network including original series Vida and American Gods as well as the upcoming series from playwright Katori Hall, P-Valley.
In her most recent role as Svp, Fernandez worked on the highly-rated Spartacus franchise, the critically-acclaimed series Boss, as well as Flesh and Bone, Ash vs Evil Dead, Da Vinci’s Demons and Emmy-winning series Black Sails. Fernandez first joined Starz in 2007.

If you missed Italian Stallion when I played it last year at my Super-8 Sex Movie Madness show, you’ll have another chance this weekend when I screen it (in it’s glorious condensed 18-minute super-8 cut) at the Super Swingers ’70s Night at The Way Out Club this Saturday Nov 23rd beginning at 9pm. I’ll be showing Italian Stallion and some other films of that nature that are not pornography, but a certain type of R-Rated film that one may have enjoyed at the Drive-ins in the 1970′s. The other swinging films I’ll be screening that night include Flesh Gordon, Swinging Stewardesses, Ed Wood’s Glen Or Glenda, and a ’70s Sexploitation trailer reel.
The Way Out Club is located at 2525 Jefferson Avenue in South St. Louis

Every year, we here at Sound On Sight celebrate the month of October with 31 Days of Horror; and every year, I update the list of my favourite horror films ever made. Last year, I released a list that included 150 picks. This year, I’ll be upgrading the list, making minor alterations, changing the rankings, adding new entries, and possibly removing a few titles. I’ve also decided to publish each post backwards this time for one reason: the new additions appear lower on my list, whereas my top 50 haven’t changed much, except for maybe in ranking. I am including documentaries, short films and mini series, only as special mentions – along with a few features that can qualify as horror, but barely do.

New York underground filmmaker and avante-garde theatre director Andy Milligan is perhaps best known for his sleazy exploitation movies that ran in 42nd St theatres for years throughout the 1970s. Memorable titles include The Rats Are Coming! The Werewolves Are Here! (1972) and The Ghastly Ones (1968), the latter banned in the UK during the 1980s as a “video nasty.” A meeting in 1968 in New York with Leslie Elliot, a British distributor, lead to several of his films being distributed in the UK. Even better for Milligan was the opportunity to shoot five new films under Elliot's production arm Cinemedia Films. Finding himself a flat in Soho and becoming acquainted with the British by hanging out with male prostitutes on Piccadilly Circus, Milligan developed a study of poverty,...
