Unengaging Spanish spaghetti western
Leofwine_draca24 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
SEVEN FOR PANCHO VILLA is a low budget and unengaging Spanish spaghetti western in which a bunch of vengeful characters who each have their own back story team up to get revenge on the notorious bandit. John Ericson, a sometime familiar face in Italian action cinema, co-stars. This film features sunny climes and stodgy action sequences, feeling too cheap to ever really convince; it's the sort of story that you've seen play out dozens of times before and there's literally nothing new or engaging to enjoy in this play-out.

So-so and simple Paella Western with adventures , crossfire and a good but wasted cast
ma-cortes19 March 2021
After attacking The US city of Columbus on a famous raid , Pancho Villa : Ricardo Palacios flees , being pursued by the Americans and the Carranzistas , being saved at the last minute by his remaining underlings . The escaped Pancho Villa is injured and along the way he left his loot hidden in Cerezo town . As Villa establishes an alliance with General Urbina : Gustavo Rojo and a a hired man, an American Gringo called Diego Alvarado : John Ericson who along with other five adventurers set out in taking the robbed treasure.

This is Spanish made Western results to be a semi-fictional flick , painting an cynical and ambitious portrayal of the notorious leader who shows up at the beginning of the movie . The yarn ignores the wealth of the authentic history and becomes yet another action/adventure/western and this failed production doesn't deliver what it should . It is a mediocre Chorizo Western with noisy action , go riding , betrayals and shootouts . The main and support cast are pretty good with two American actors as John Ericson and James Philbrook , alongside decent secondaries as Gustavo Rojo, Mara Cruz , Pastor Serrador , Antonio Jiménez Escribano and Ricardo Palacios as the rough Pancho Villa . This Tortilla Western was middlingly directed by Jose Maria Elorrieta .

This is an uneven rehash about Pancho Villa exploits , after his raid on Columbus town . The actual events were as follows : For a time Villa , who seemed in line for leadership of Mexico , enjoyed the sympathetic interest of the Us government who then dropped him and supported his rival Carranza . Villa's resentment resulted in the revenge raid on Columbus . Villa slapped the Unites States in the face by executing a surprise raid on the town of Columbus New Mexico in 1916 , killing eight American soldiers and ten civilians . In retaliation , President Woodrow Wilson sent General Pershing and a punitive expedition into Mexico in hot pursuit of Villa . The US column included the Seventh Cavalry and Apache scouts , chsed Villa deep into Mexico ,the Americans captured and murdered several Villa's lieutenants but failed to catch the guerrilla leader . Because of Mexican protests, Pershing's command went back to the US . Villa was assassinated in 1923 when gunman ambushed his car
