Escape From Taiga but... escape from the boredom, too!
gazineo-113 January 2003
Weak, extremely boring drama concerning the secret mission of an agent(Hunter) infiltrated in a Russian prison, located in Siberia, to give escape to another agent captured by the communists. Typical example of the movies that were made in the times of the Cold War. Unfortunately, this one is a complete misfire. Based on a story by the German best selling author Heinz Konsalik.

I give this a 4 (four).

Dull but unique

Warning: Spoilers
There's not a great deal to recommend this talky tale of intrigue and imprisonment in the furthest reaches of Siberia, but the film does feature one memorable and unique scene. I refer, of course, to the 'death by lumberjack' sequence, which seems like an awfully labor-intensive form of execution. If the Soviets really did rely on this method, it's no wonder they lost the Cold War.
