The Braves's second film is a joyous romp through an acceptable adventure starred by Mike Kennedy
ma-cortes8 September 2017
Amusing and psychedelic adventure with romance , dances , cartoon , brilliant images and a lot of songs sung by the famous band ¨Los Bravos¨ . This film packs strange situations , swift frames , disco music , dancing , twists , musical numbers and attractive images made in a sort-of psychedelic manner ; but it especially contains popular entertainment and naif amusement . It deals with Mike Kennedy , lead singer of the rock musical band called the fab ¨Los Bravos¨ (one of the first Spanish bands performing in English language and formed by Manolo Fernández , Miguel Vicens , Pablo Sanllehi , Tony Martínez) on holidays and they go to countryside in Madrid Sierra , next to a girls boarding school in which lives several likable teenagers (Pilar Velazquez , Concha Goyanes , Carballeira) . The college is run by a group of old and stiff teachers (Lola Gaos , Guadalupe Muñoz Sampedro , Laly Soldevilla as the gym teacher) . There also lives the unfortunate Don Hilario (Manolo Gómez Bur) , the philanthropist benefactor's grandson and heir . While enjoying vacation Mike falls for the beautiful student Elisa (Enriqueta Carballeira) and then he poses as a music teacher : ¨Don Mike¨ . Meanwhile , his remaining colleagues think that Mike is doing some fantastic craziness and they then disguise as student girls .

This is is an exciting musical comedy narrated in psychedelic comic pop style , including cartoon images realized by ¨Moro studios¨. It packs groovy scenarios , animated images , thrills , wild effects , humor , strident and gaudy sets . The highlights of the movie result to be some frames in black and white and in silent cinema wake when ¨Mike¨ tells his infancy with his parents played by Manuel De Blas , Marisa Paredes , by means of flashbacks . And , of course , it has quite a few songs composed and performed by ¨Los Bravos¨ , the notorious band of the sixties who achieved a big international success with their two big hits : ¨Black is Black¨ and ¨Los Chicos Con Las Chicas¨ . Here they play a lot of catching and commercial songs , most of them composed by Adolfo Waitzman . Colorfully paced by Javier Aguirre , being supported by Moro studios with Francisco Macián , the awesome genius of the Spanish animation who created some original sequences and whose technique to be taken by ¨Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the rings¨ . Besides , a glimmer and shimmer cinematography by Rafael de Casenave , though a perfect remastering being extremely necessary . Including gorgeous exteriors from Madrid and adding some aerial takes . The main cast gives sympathetic acting . And the support cast is frankly extraordinary , such as : Laly Soldevila as a grumpy teacher , Rafaela Aparicio as a cook , Manolo Gómez Bur , Guadalupe Muñoz Sampedro ,Laly Soldevila ,María Luisa Ponte ,Lola Gaos , Irán Eory ,Concha Goyanes ,Pilar Velázquez , Blaki , and ¨Tip and Coll¨.

The motion picture was amusingly directed by prolific filmmaker Javier Aguirre (El Astronauta , Vida Perra , El Jorobado De La Morgue , Monja Alférez) . Being shot in video-clip and comic book style and with great flair , being noted to be as one of the first Spanish music videos . This realization is similar to another Los Bravos vehicle : "Bring a Little Loving" or ¨Dame Un Poco De Amooor¨ by José Maria Forqué , also full of video-clips realized in Richard Lester's ¨Help¨ and ¨A hard day's night¨ wake . Here Aguirre carries out a decent , nimble and professional direction , though including some flaws and gaps .
