Likeable and charming comedy with a successful musical duo : Rocio Durcal and Palito Ortega
ma-cortes10 December 2018
A sympathetic and fun comedy with two youthful idols : the Spanish Rocio Durcal and Palito Ortega in real life also a well known singer from Argentina , both of whom create a nice musical couple . It is an amusing story of a flight attendant and a student , and how they fall in love . Both of whom attempt to bring to life their dreams , making their desires truth of being artist , as he is a engineer student and she a flight attendant . But their ways cross on board , at an airplane where various distresses happen , as well as songs .

Agreeable and attractive musical comedy with a good duo , starred by prodigy adolescent Rocio Durcal as a stewardess , being accompanied by a great plethora of secondaries . Of course , Rocio steals the show as the splendid singer and dancer teen girl . Durcal is well supported by the notorious singer Palito Ortega and a fine support cast , full of familiar faces , along with a great number of cameos , such as : Alberto Dalbés , Tomás Blanco , Manuel Alexandre , Rosario Garcia Ortega , Cándida Losada , Rafaela Aparicio, Cris Huerta ,Erasmo Pascual , José Sepúlveda , Félix Dafauce , Blaki , José Luis López Vazquez and Venancio Muro . Being special mention for José Sazatornil 'Saza' with his hilarious timing . And , of course , the always great Fernando Rey . The scenarios and studios in which develop the deeds are well designed . Musical score by José Torregrosa responds appropriately to the ambient , originating a careful atmosphere . Luminous and glimmer cinematography by Antonio L. Ballesteros, tough mostly shot in Roma studios , and locations from Madrid and Barcelona . The filmmaker Luis Cesar Amadori as well as the famous producer Luis Sanz , along with the production company : Suevia/Cesareo Gonzalez , succeed in this picture , obtaining a great achievement , managing perfectly to the performers and taking advantage of them , giving the best of their acting . It's worthwhile mingle of music , spectacular choreography , comedy , sentimentalism and good feeling .

Here Rocio Durcal gives a sensitive acting as a singer and flight attendant . Her artist beginning was in 1960, when she not yet 15, she appeared in the TV show 'Primer Aplauso' ('First Applause') where the Spanish movie producer Luis Sanz discovered her . Her debut in cinema was in 1960 and she complemented her activity in cinema with records , recitals and TV-shows . She took the stage name Rocío Durcal (Rocío is a popular girls' name in Spain, after the place of pilgrimage where 'La Romeria' - an annual festival of worship to the Virgin Mary - is held, and Durcal is a town in the province of Andalucia in southern Spain) . Her first movie was 'Canción de Juventud' ('Song of Youth') in 1961, and ' Rocio de la Mancha' directed by Luis Lucia , following the enjoyable style from Hollywood productions starred by Deanna Durbin in the forties . These were the first of many musical comedies she was to star in and that would gain her fame in Spain, Portugal, France and Latin America. Rocio was widely known in Spain when she became a widely successful teen star , she starred a lot of films which were big box-office hits in Spain during Franco's dictatorship , and she became Spain's most famous girl actress -along with Marisol- , outstanding his highly expressive face and eyes , charming eyes and innocent , angelical face . She was a milestone in Spanish "child prodigies" under Franco along with Joselito , Pili and Mili , Ana Belén and especially Pablito Calvo . At this time many other young singer-actors in Spanish films were popular, including Raphael, Marisol, Ana Belén, Joselito, the Dúo Dinámico, Miguel Ríos, and the twin sisters, Pili and Mili. Other films , many of the them directed by the Argentinean Luis Cesar Amadori , included 'Rocío de La Mancha', 'La Chica del Trébol', 'Tengo 17 Años', 'Más Bonita que Ninguna', 'Acompáñame', ' Buenos días condesita' , 'Amor en el Aire', 'Cristina Guzmán', the Musical Revista 'Las Leandras' by Eugenio Martin and 'La Novicia Rebelde' , the latter a peculiar version to 'La Hermana de San Sulpicio' . Later on , she attempted to play serious cinema with 'Benito Perez Galdos' Marianela' (1972) by Angelino Fons , a Spanish-French co-production titled 'Diselo con Flores' (1974) and even a lesbianism story with Barbara Rey titled 'Me siento extraña' by Enrique Marti , her last one . Due to these flops at Spanish box office , she left the shooting and performing , only , songs in popular shows . In 1970, Rocío married the Philippine singer and composer, Antonio Morales , better known as Júnior, a former member of the pop group, Los Brincos (considered at the time as the Spanish version of The Beatles). Their marriage proved one of the more solid marriages in the world of show business and they had three children: Carmen María (born in 1971), Antonio (born in 1974) and Shaila (born in 1980), and one grandson, Christian (born in 1997, the son of Carmen María). In 1975, Rocío retired from movies to dedicate herself to her family. She received many invitations to return, but has declined all of them . But she returned to show business two years later when she recorded the first of many records of material written by the Mexican singer-composer, Juan Gabriel. Backed by the Mexican band, Mariachi América, these resulted in unexpected hits, popularity and awards, not only in Spain and Mexico, but also in Latin America and in the Hispanic community of the United States. Rocío Durcal (ironically, being Spanish) revitalised the Mexican music scene in the 1970s and 80s and became even better known as a singer of 'rancheras' (traditional Mexican song) in her later years than she had been as an actress at the start of her career. With thousands of fans worldwide and records sales in their millions, this Madrid-born lady was, undoubtedly, one of the brightest stars of Spanish language show business .In 2001, Rocio Durcal was diagnosed with cancer of the uterus that unfortunately was later found to have spread to her lung and brain. Despite extensive treatment, Rocio died on 25 March 2006 in Torrelodones, Madrid.

The motion picture professionally directed by Luis Cesar Amadori with enough emotion and enthusiasm . The Argentinean , nationalized Spanish writer/filmmaker Amadori so consistently mixed the good with the mediocre that it became quite impossible to know what to expect from him next . Here the craftsman Luis Cesar Amadori blends loving intrigues along with popular songs . Amadori was an Argentina-born former journalist and music critic who became a leading stage producer and dramatist , and , subsequently, writer-director of motion pictures in Argentina . Luis was manager in 150 theatrical spectacles . He debuts in ¨Puerto Nuevo¨(1936) co-directed by Mario Soffici . Amadori often used the pseudonym ¨Gabriel Peña¨ when he wrote his scripts . After the overthrow of Peron worked in Spain for a decade , for 1958 to 1968 he made 17 films , such as : 1965 ¨Más Bonita Que Ninguna¨ , 1964 ¨El Señor De La Salle¨ with Mel Ferrer , 1964 ¨Como Dos Gotas Agua¨ , 1963 ¨La Casta Susana¨ , 1961 ¨Pecado De Amor¨ , 1961 ¨Alerta en el Cielo¨ , 1960 ¨Mi Ultimo tango¨ , 1960 ¨Un Trono para Cristy¨ , 1959 ¨Una Gran Señora¨ , 1958 ¨Una Muchachita De Valladolid¨ . Most of them were vehicles of popular actresses as ¨Rocio Durcal¨ , ¨Marujita Diaz¨ , ¨Pili and Mili¨ and Sara Montiel with whom made this his biggest hit : ¨La Violetera¨ .

Love not only in the air

Perhaps the best movie made by Rocio Durcal (Clara Luna), a great Spain singer in real life. In this light comedies with Palito Ortega (Oklahoma Indian) in real life also a well known artist from Argentina made a good duo. Is a funny story of a stewardess and a guy, and how they fall in love and make their dreams truth of being artist , something their grandparents in their time could not do. In this film they share credits with Fernando Rey (later in some of Buñuel's movies) and Amalia de Isaura (Leona) and a wonderful comedies actor Jose "Saza" Sazatornil (Fumasoli) who is great in his character as an artist agent. Amazing really. Those who like Spanish light comedies will have a good time watching this movie. It reminds me so many things every time I see it...Rocio Durcal made other movies like "Buenos dias condesita" , "Cristina Guzman" , "Marianela", "Cancion de Juventud", "Rocio de la Mancha", "Tengo 17 años" and "La chica del Trebol" as long as I know, but this one is one of the best.
