Father Manolo (Manolo Escobar) is a rather unusual priest , to his ordinary religious vocation and as a teacher of a children school , he adds his skills as a singer of typical Spanish songs . He lives with his uncle , also priest , Padre Pepe (the always likeable Miguel Ligero) who advises him about various hard circumstances . While traveling by coach around Segovia , Manolo witnesses the death of a man's (Mariano Vidal Molina) traffic accident , a car crash that has actually been intentional and carried out by a shooter (Fernando Sanchez Polack) , a contract killer hired by dead's relatives . From the outset , Father Manolo suspects that said death has actually been caused by someone from the victim's family environment -the Espinosa family formed by threee cousins (Francisco Piquer , José Luis Lespe , Arturo López) -in order to collect the substantial inheritance . As the main question of the movie is to guess : who's the killer? . As Manolo becomes a sleuth , as he begins a private investigation on what seems to be a murder resulting in unexpected consequences .

Charming and nice movie with attractive songs and in the surprising final takes places the ordinary happy end , being professional but middlingly realized by Ramón Torrado and well produced by Alfredo Fraile and Arturo Gonzalez . A likeable but mediocre film starred by the always splendid Manolo Escobar , here imitating to Paco Martinez Soria or Alfredo Landa or Antonio Garisa playing one the ordinary roles as a honest priest with a kind and good-natured character . This so-so comedy has passable interpretations , humor , laughs and enjoyable feeling . This is an agreeable story about a peculiar priest who joins his own artistic vocation that expresses through magic tricks along with his investigating skillness , being proceeded in simplicity and delicacy , providing a lot of chances of singing . The main role "Manolo" is played by himself in a phenomenal way , can be said that he is perfectly adequate to his measure . That's why Manolo Escobar steals the show as a splendid priest, magician and , of course, singer and finally as a private investigator who embarks on his own risk to solve a crime . Here Manolo is very well accompanied by a fine support cast with plenty of familiar faces , such as : Miguel Ligero , Ángel de Andrés , Laly Soldevila , Francisco Piquer , Mariano Vidal Molina , Diana Sorel , Pedro Porcel , Arturo López , Ada Tauler , Fernando Sánchez Polack , Juan Luis Galiardo , Juan Antonio Riquelme , José Luis Pecker , Erasmo Pascual , José Franco , Jesús Guzmán and the indispensable Julia Caba Alba .

The motion picture was middlingly directed by Ramon Torrado , he made a mostly decent , colorful fun , but not without gaps , failures and flaws . It was success enough , and Manolo Escobar went on playing other musical movies in similar style . Filmmaker Ramon Torrado was born in 1905 , Galicia, Spain. He was a director and writer, known for directing some vehicles of known Folkloric stars such as Peret in ¨Amor a Todo gas¨ (1969) , Manolo Escobar in ¨Un Beso en Puerto¨ (1966) and Paquito Rico in ¨Malvaloca¨ (1954) . Torrado directed four mediocre Chorizo Westerns such as 1965 ¨Los Cuatreros¨ , 1964 ¨La Carga de la Policía Montada¨ , 1964 ¨Relevo a Pistolero¨ and 1963 ¨Bienvenido, Padre Murray¨ . Rating . 6/10 . Diverting and attractive musical comedy for Manolo Escobar fans, .
