Hit romantic and student comedy from the sixties including the unforgettable Duo Dinamico
ma-cortes16 June 2023
His is an amusing romantic comedy , plenty of humor , jealousy , a charming loving triangle , frolics and entertainment . Marvelous fun boasting an attractive trio : Irán Eory , Ramón Arcusa and Manuel de La Calva from ¨El Duo Dinamico¨ , who nowadays, go on performing . Maria, in order to further her studies and in agreement with her parents, decides to come to Spain from Estoril , and they recommend that she not forget to visit her mother's town, Ronda . At the airport, Manolo, Ramón's close friend, is waiting, who was the one who really should have gone to receive her because their families were friends with her. Manolo, shy by nature, cannot explain to Maria that he is not Ramón and agrees to pose for himself. And he ends up falling madly in love with her. Then , Ramón meets Maria and and starts to chase her to go out with her , but she has fallen in love with him as well . They reunite at the faculty where Maria stands out and to the disgust of the rest of the girls in the class, all the boys want to go out with her, to the point of being known as the girlfriend of the University . Later on , she rides a Vespa to the town where long time ago her parents fell in love with her, Ronda (Málaga) . In this place there are several love conflicts between Maria, Manolo and Ramon. And the question is as follws : who of the two suitors will stay with Maria?

A sympathetic comedy delivering a lot of silly situations, entertaiment and amusement . A likeable and agreeable musical comedy displaying great charismatic bunch of actors and funny storyline with clever dialogs . The famous and incomparable¨Dynamic Duo¨ or ¨El Duo Dinamico¨ (Ramón Arcusa and Manuel De La Calva) who perform a lot of catching songs compete for the love of the beautiful Irán Eory in this sentimental comedy by Leon Klimowsky . Stars gorgeous Irán Eory as Maria , the bomb-shell girl with all her faculty fellows as pretenders , although none of them stole her heart until one of them shows up . And a fundamental fun is to guess the supporting actors appearing here and there, showing their charm and acting skills.

Here excels the colorful cinematography by cameraman Francisco Fraile , being really brilliant and glamorous . In fact, it was shot in Madrid, Ronda , Marbella (Malaga) and the Portuguese natural settings of Lisbon, Cascais and Estoril. The motion picture was well directed by León Klimovsky(1906-1996) . He was a prolific filmmaker who made all kinds of genres, outstanding in Spaghetti Western and terror movies , in fact he directed the Spain's most boxoffice horror film : La noche de los Walpurgis . This Argentina born but nationalized Spanish filmmaker was a craftsman who began his long career in Argentina and emigrated to Spain . Leon subsequently directed genres as Spaghetti Western as ¨Reverendo Colt¨ , ¨Some Dollas for Django¨, ¨Torrejon City¨ ; Terror for Paul Naschy as ¨Orgy of Vampires¨ , ¨Marshall of Hell¨, ¨Dr Jekill vs Wolfman¨ and Wartime as ¨Bullet for Rommel¨, ¨June 44 attack force Normandy¨ , ¨Bridgestone over Elba and Comedy : ¨Escala en Tenerife¨, ¨Los siete Bravisimos¨, ¨Horizontes de luz ¨, ¨Escuela de seductores¨, among others . Rating : 6.5/10 . Well worth seeing.

For Klimovsky fans.

Imagine a cross between a Cliff Richard movie and one of the numerous AIP beach party movies and you just about get an idea of what this is like.

Stars Ramon Arcusa and Manuel De La Calva are best known as the Duo Dinamico, and it is under that twin heading that they appear. The film is at best slight and inoffensive, obviously made for the home audience, but of interest to Euro fans due to the direction of Jack of all Trades, Leon Klimovsky.

Klimovsky had previously directed the pair in 1964's similar Enscala En Tenerife, and although it is his horrors and westerns that are of most interest to fans, these movies show that the man could turn his hand to anything with favourable results.

Arcusa and De La Calva still play to this day and recently appeared on Spanish TV discussing the film and their careers after a rare screening.
