- Four episodes were edited together with some new special effects for a 1980 TV Movie titled Captain Scarlet vs. the Mysterons (1980). A further compilation of the four lunar based episodes were compiled a year later for a sequel entitled Revenge of the Mysterons from Mars (1981).
- For the original broadcast, commercial breaks were heralded with the familiar 7 beat staccato drum (used for scene transitions) inter-cutting with the final scene and the Spectrum Logo zooming out. The resuming of the program was then heralded with a repeat, this time with the opening scene inter-cut with the Spectrum Logo zooming in. Though this is present on DVD and Blu ray releases, for airings on the BBC and original video releases, this was re-edited so that instead of the Spectrum Logo zooming in/out, the closing and opening scenes either side of the commercial break were simply inter-cut with each other making it a standard scene transition.
- Initial prints of each episode of the series featured an opening instrumental theme tune, or with a voice over by Captain Blue. After concerns were raised about children copying Captain Scarlet's actions, later prints feature a warning at the end of the credits by Colonel White: "Captain Scarlet is indestructible. You are not - remember this. Do not try to imitate him".
