- Chicago private detective Russell Harper and his assistant, Diana, travel to a Florida nudist camp to find a missing husband and both of them soon become embroided with the life of nudists while falling in love with each other.
- Chicago private detective, Russell Harper, and his assistant, Diana Scott, are hired by Sandra Elliott to find her husband Paul, who has disappeared. Mrs. Elliott tells the detective that her husband, a former nudist, may be living somewhere down in Florida at a nudist camp. Mrs. Elliott also tells them that the sole identifying mark on her husband is a tattoo on his left arm.
Prior to leaving for Florida, Diana goes on a shopping spree and purchases several items of clothing, including lingerie. While trying them on in her small apartment, Russell calls to inform her of their travel plans to find Paul Elliott.
Russ and Diana fly down to Miami where they rent a red convertible automobile and decide to travel to every nudest camp in the area to look for Mr. Elliott. At the first camp they visit, they are turned away when they introduce themselves as private detectives in which the camp owner refuses admission for them.
At the next camp, Russ and Diana decide to role-play as husband and wife to gain access and guest membership. After some reluctance on the part of Diana to remove her clothing, she finally does in a 'nudie cutie' fashion and they both walk in the buff around the nudest camp. At first shy about displaying her nude body, Diana soon becomes comfortable with nudism. Russ on the other hand sticks to business and looks at all of the men's left arms to find the tattoo, but without success.
The next day, Russ and Diana drive to another nudest camp in Homestead, around 50 miles away from Miami, where they once again gain access using fake names, but this time pretending that they are brother and sister. Diana even partakes in a all-nude Twist dance contest with other nudists while Russ searches the guest book in the office to find Paul Elliott's name. During the Twist contest, one of the nudists partakes and helps Diana win. The man introduces himself as Peter Elsworth in which he and Diana spend more time together around the camp, watching various activities which include nude horseshoe throwing, a nudest jumping on a trampoline, and even nude bathing in the nearby pond and swimming pool.
It is here that while looking through the guest book, but not finding Paul Elliott's name, Russ finds that Peter Elsworth's signature is very similar to Paul's which leads him to realize that Peter is really Paul Elliott. When Diana introduces Peter to Russ at the lake, they both notice a mark-like scar on Peter's left arm which may have been a tattoo that had been surgically removed. When Russ and Diana confront Peter, he reveals that he really is the missing Paul Elliott. Russ and Diana reveal their real identities of being private investigators to Peter/Paul Elliott and tell him that Sandra hired them to find and bring him back to Chicago. A confirmed nudist, Elliott states that he will not return with them to live with his wife who continually harangues him on the subject.
Russ and Diana call Sandra and ask her to come to the nudist camp herself to persuade her husband to leave with them. Mrs. Elliott arrives the next day, and the two detectives persuade her to remove her clothing and enter the camp to confront her husband. Sandra does so and after like Diana, uncomfortable with nudity, embraces her well being and both Mr. and Mrs. Elliott are happily reunited. Russ and Diana, whom have fallen in love with each other during the course of the case, leave the camp to return to Chicago with the intention of getting married.
