June Foray is credited for the first time in a Looney Tunes cartoon, despite having voice acted for the series since the late '40s.
One of the few instances where Yosemite Sam is not paired with Bugs Bunny.
The sinister plans that Sam mutters to himself (buying and getting rid of the old ladies home, the orphanage and the police force as soon as he gets the widow's money) are the same exact plans that he makes 10 years earlier in the cartoon "Hare Trimmed" (with Bugs Bunny).
Roland and Ratfink, a later cartoon series paired with The Pink Panther and Le Inspector shorts, used the same plot in the 1970 offering, "A Taste of Money." (The title was a pun on the film and song "A Taste of Honey.")
The caricature on the money bill in the opening credits bears a resemblance to director Friz Freleng.
