So-so comedy with rhythmic ups and downs with a great Spanish main and support cast

Starting from the famous saying "on Tuesday and thirteen neither get married nor embark",Lola and Maria are two Spanish young ladies engaged to Franz Johan (Franz Johan himself) and Pepe (José Luis López Vázquez) , all so eager to spend their honeymoon that the moment seems never to come, as all sorts of problems pave their way . Pepe is going to get married in Madrid on Tuesday and the 13th, Saint Anthony's Day, with his girlfriend Mari (Concha Velasco). However, a fire makes him delay arriving at the church and they take a fireman truck , causing the ceremony to be celebrated with another couple, made up of Franz (Franz Johan (a famous TV presenter , here one of his few appearances in the cinema) and Lola (Isabel de Castro) . Both couples, later, will end up in jail where takes place a noisy partying , and sharing a honeymoon in Lisbon and the tourist town of Estoril , a pleasant summer location. In the middle, a fiery trip with Vespa between the couple Concha Velasco and José Luis López Vázquez and other adventures and misfortunes. Eventually , López Vázquez gets to play roller hockey in some fun scenes at the end .

The film partially portrays the society of the Sixties and being full of frivolity , duplicity , deceits , amusement and entertainment . This hilarious as well as average film is full of humor , absurd scenes , and developing conflicts between two newly married couples . Pedro Lazaga shot this Spanish-Portuguese co-production that takes place initially in Madrid and later in Portugal, specifically in Lisbon and Estoril, showing the sunny settings by cameraman Juan Julio Baena photographed in Eastmancolor. It is a simple , and humorous portrait of a time when the Spanish people wished to marry at whatever cost , and including the tourist boom from the Portuguese/Spanish coast . Its nostalgic look has some passable moments that reflect a Spain of the sixties : a poor country in economic developing during the years when the action takes place . It is full of typical Spanish topics , a simple plot and including atmospheric sets . This film is made to entertain , and this movie , especially for a good time and a pleasant entertainment but results to be a a little bit boring and tiring, at times . The flick packs silly incidents , funny comical sketches , tongue-in-cheek , grotesque situations and above all , it especially contains catching touches of humor and irony . Its plot, always based on the superstition of the day of the wedding, is soulless, irregular in its humor, but funny enough and there's a nice chemistry among four protagonists : Concha Velasco, José Luis López Vázquez , Franz Johan , Isabel de Castro. The film, with López Vázquez in a double role of "twin cousins", has enough ingredients to create an entertaining comic entanglement in a playful atmosphere , along with situations linked to "everything goes wrong" with a fortuitous meeting of couples on a fateful day. Here stands out a fine support cast with full of familiar faces , such as : Juan Calvo , Félix Fernández , Rafael Hernández , Emilio Rodríguez , Licia Calderón , Matilde Muñoz Sampedro , Tota Alba , Francisco Bernal, Aníbal Vela , Francisco Camoiras , Antonio Jiménez Escribano , María Vico , Xan das Bolas , among others.

The film was professional but regularly directed by the prolific Pedro Lazaga and it got hit at Spanish box office . Lazaga directed various film with the popular comic player Paco Martinez Soria . Lazaga was born in Valls , Tarragona , Catalonia , and died on November 30, 1979 in Madrid . He was a prolific director and writer , specially known for Los Chicos del Preu (1967), María Morena (1951), Cuerda De Presos (1956) and Posición Avanzada (1966). Pedro was a craftsman , a notorious director and writer who directed all kind of genres such as Peplum : Siete Espartanos , Wartime : Cuerda De Presos , Posicion Avanzada , Torrepartida , La Patrulla ; Drama : Rostro De Asesino , Otro Arbol De Guernica , but especially known for comedies in low budget . Director Pedro Lazaga made , during the fifties and early sixties , eight films , mostly comedies : ¨Muchachas De Azul¨, Ana Dice Si¨. ¨Luna De Verano¨, ¨Económicamente Debiles¨ , ¨Trio Damas¨ for screenwriter and producer Jose Luis Dibildos and his ¨Agata Films Productions¨. The best of all them resulted to be ¨Los Tramposos¨. He continued making comedies such as Patrulla De Los Once , Los Tramposos , Sabian Demasiado , El Vikingo , ¡No Firmes Más Letras, Cielo! , Vente a Ligar Al Oeste , Hasta El Matrimonio Nos Separe , La Amante Perfecta , Fulanita y Sus Menganos , Vota a Gundisalvo , Terapia Al Desnudo , Tres Suecas Para Tres Rodríguez , Yo soy Fulana de Tal , 5 Almohadas Para Una Noche , En La Cresta De la Ola and several others .
