This film may have been seen as 'cutting edge' in 1961 by portraying working class 'social realism' from a Arnold Wesker play, but some plays do not successfully convert to the silver screen, and this is one of them! There's not enough of a storyline to hold the interest of the audience, and the constant shouting and arguing in a sweaty kitchen, gets tedious in the extreme! The film at best is an hour's TV drama. I found the characters boring, with the whole film meandering painfully along without purpose. It just about qualifies as a mediocre B feature.
