Set in Madrid in the 50s , it tells the story of Miguel Orégano (José Luis Ozores) , a poor and unfortunate guy whom everyone calls "El Tarta" , because of his stuttering . His friend Manolo (Tony Leblanc) , on the other hand, is a guy who knows how to take advantage of opportunities with his usual mischief, he manages to get both of them to agree to watch a soccer game without paying for the ticket . In the middle of the game and due to a discussion, Miguel ends up knocking down , nothing more and less , Pedro Molina , the Spanish boxing champion . Manolo did not hesitate to take advantage of this even occasion to turn his friend into a boxer and himself into his representative . Without much conviction , ¨El Tarta¨ enters the world of boxing with the nickname ¨El Tigre de Chamberi¨, with the intention of attracting the attention of Marisa (Hélène Rémy) , the daughter of his sponsor (José Marco Davo) and with whom he is in love.

Penultimate of the four films directed by Pedro Ramirez with José Luis Ozores as the protagonist (¨Recruit With Child¨ or ¨Recluta con Niño¨, ¨Los Ladrones somos Gente Honrada¨ , ¨El Gafe¨) co-starred by Tony Leblanc . The film designed to show off the hilarious skills of this sympathetic actor , José Luis Ozores , who has at his side another heavy weight of the Spanish comedy at the time , Tony Leblanc . The latter plays his friend Manolo, a roguish guy who knows how to take advantage of the opportunities that life presents to get money . The picture moves between the comedy of rogues and the Madrid costumbrism . Fun comedy set on the boxing world and training gyms , along with the bemusing images and hilarious set pieces at the ring . The funniest scenes result to the confusion and mayhem that our starring causes , the botched images of José Luis Ozores fighting with his opponent , the Spanish boxing champion , and his clumsy movements and punches that he gives him . Furthermore, there are a number of familiar faces , in fact one of the main entertainments of the picture turns out to be guessing which secondary will appear in the next sequence , including the following ones : José Marco Davó , Julia Caba Alba, Antonio Garisa , José Ramón Giner , Leo Anchóriz , Anibal Vela , presenter Matiás Prats , among others.

The picture contains an evocative cinematography in black and white by cameraman Federico G. Larraya as well as an atmospheric musical score by Federico Contreras . Being shot mostly in Sevilla studios , Madrid , with nice production design by the important designer Enrique Alarcon . The motion picture was uneven but professionaly directed by Pedro L. Ramirez . Pedro was a craftsman who made some hits as Recluta con niño, Los ladrones somos gente honrada , El tigre de Chamberi ,El gafe, Crimen para recien casados , Donde pongo este muerto and La Cenicienta y Ernesto . He directed several comedies but also made other genres as Spaghetti Western such as Judas toma tus monedas , Ninguno de los tres se llamaba Trinidad ; furthermore , Giallo as El pez de los ojos de oro and Terror as El colegio de la muerte . Rating : 6/10 . Acceptable and passable . The motion picture will appeal to Spanish cinema buffs and José Luis Ozores/Tony Leblanc fans .
