With a warrant for the arrest of Dan Ballard, a respected local rancher of Silver Lode, vengeful Marshal Fred McCarthy, and his three deputies ride into the small town. As unsuspecting Dan is about to get married to beautiful Rose Evans, Fred's angry posse disrupts the wedding ceremony and the Fourth of July festivities, accusing him of having murdered his brother. Now, there is no turning back, and even though Ballard swears that he is innocent, McCarthy, who is bent on bringing him to justice, gives Dan two hours to take care of his affairs. Under those circumstances, much to his surprise, Dan comes to realise that his initially sceptical fellow citizens are turning against him, triggering an all-out manhunt in the name of truth and justice. But, in a tight-knit community of hostile friends, can once-beloved Dan manage to prove his innocence, and clear his name?
