  Leah Fuller : For God! A little better reason than ours, wasn't it?

  Hooker : She took what there was.

  Fiske : Yeah, that's true. The barrel was empty. She scraped the bottom.

• Fiske : [Seeing Leah feeding sugar to her horse]  Look, you see that? Before this is over, you'll be just like that horse, eatin' right out of her hand.

  Hooker : Maybe it isn't the woman. Maybe it's the sugar.

• Hooker : Vicente is marking the trail.

  Fiske : Yeah.

  Hooker : You think he might wanna make this trip again?

  Fiske : He just might wanna get back from this one.

  Hooker : Who told that?

  Fiske : Me.

• Fiske : [of Luke Daley]  He's crazy again. First it was the woman, now it's the gold. He means to have one or the other if it gets him killed.

  Hooker : It could.

• Fiske : Funny thing. I know everybody on board ship except you. I don't know anything about you. I know your name's Hooker and that's it.
