As a group of happy divorcees get off the train in Reno, they are followed by the little Gigi Perreau who wants to get a divorce from her parents. She makes up fibs which gets the attention of attorney Mark Stevens, and he agrees to represent her which intrigues his girlfriend Peggy Dow. Perreau's parents, Frances Dee and Leif Erickson arrived in Reno after the case makes the newspapers, and Stevens takes drastic measures to resolve the situation.
This obscure Universal comedy/drama obviously influencer the 1984 film "Irreconcilable Differences", but the original film is not one that's really worthy of a remake. It's an interesting idea, but the script is dull and the little bits of comedy don't really add much. When the main story has to be distracted by a romance of two outside characters build as the leads, it's obvious that there was really a lack of ingenuity and getting the story off the ground. groundbreaking it may try to be in expressing the rights of children, but the way it goes about it does not succeed.
