Not a bad movie but it needs more action in places
wrbtu23 February 2000
Whip Wilson (with neckerchief & white horse) as Tom Yeager, & Andy Clyde as Hungry, pose as bad guys to infiltrate the gang run by Phyllis Coates. Andy is two years removed from his last role as California in the Hopalong Cassidy series, & Phyllis has a couple of years to go before she becomes the first Lois Lane in the Superman TV series, & those two are the best actors in this movie. Although very similar in mannerisms, Andy's character here is not quite as silly as his California character in the Hoppy series, & here he actually shoots someone. On the plus side, it's not a bad movie, & it's a bit more realistic than some of the Lash LaRue movies (to compare another whip carrying good guy), & it has no music. However, it needs more action in places, there's one major credibility lapse, & the Whip Wilson fight scenes are poorly done.
