- Benchley, in this MGM short (production number B-723), in his usual befuddlement state, demonstrates the proper(?) method of sub-letting an apartment; he manages to show all the worst features.
- The Doakes are subletting their furnished apartment. It's Sunday morning and as Mrs. Doakes is heading to church, her husband, Joseph Doakes, is responsible for showing the apartment to prospective tenants, a task on which he is not too keen as he would rather lounge around for the day. He is still in his sleeping robe when the first prospective tenants, Mr. & Mrs. Mustavas, come by with the renting agent. As the Mustavases wander around, Doakes tries his hardest to hide the many imperfections of the apartment to varying degrees of success. He is also woefully uninformed of many of the aspects of the apartment despite having lived there for quite some time. By the end of the Mustavases' visit, none of it may matter.—Huggo
- Mrs. Doakes leaves for church on a Sunday morning, warning her husband, who's lounging on the sofa reading the paper, that he should dress in case the real estate agent brings people by to see the flat. Doakes dismisses this as unlikely. Minutes later, the maid announces that the agent is at the door with a couple who want to see the place. The wife is formidable, her husband stiff and quiet. The inspection doesn't go well: the agent pops off for a few minutes, and Doakes has no idea where various things are. He asks that they wait for his wife to return, but the woman continues her inspection, asking for a demonstration of the gas stove. Is it time to light a cigar?—<jhailey@hotmail.com>
