"Chaflan" got a sweet deal from an oil Company who bought his land for 2 million pesos ( back in 1938, that amount must have been a fortune ) and he takes his wife and three kids to live in Mexico City. He does that reluctantly, because he loves the land where he was born and he wanted to die there, but his wife wishes a more exciting life and be close to the world of fashion and good life, so they convince him to sell and the whole family, along with a friend ( who has already been in the city, as he often claims ). Once there all kind of problems arise; another Oil Company wants him to take the money from him, with a scam, trying to make him buy a device to milk cows faster and making more than 50 liters from each cow. His wife throws a costume party so big people have not seen something like it in 100 years, she is so proud and starts looking for a husband to her daughter, whose boyfriend stayed in the range. Looks like the only ones happy are his wife and his friend, who is also making money as a middle man between "Chaflan" and all the people who is trying to take advantage of him.
