- Cattlemen's Protective Association agent Tom Wade and his partner Happy are assigned to look into the disappearance of rancher John Carroll, who has been abducted by Carson, who wants to use his out-of-the-way ranch as a base for his smuggling operations. - Tom Wade (Tom Tyler) and his partner Clem "Happy" Baldwin (Howard Bryant), of the Cattleman's Protective Association, are detailed to investigate the disappearance of John Carroll (Lafe McKee). His daughter Rita (Jeanne Martel), after receiving a mysterious message, is also seeking him. Tom asks Rita to let him help her,but she is convinced by Bart Garson (Forrest Taylor) that Tom and "Happy" have something on her father and want her to lead them to him, at which time they will arrest him. Tom knows that Bart is one of the men holding Mr. Carroll prisoner, but he loses the trail when he tries to follow Garson and Rita to the hideout where her father is being held captive. Rita, suspecting Garson of being implicated, tries to leave a trail of beads for Tom, but Garson takes her on such a devious route that it is difficult to pick up the path eve with the beads for a guide.—Les Adams <longhorn1939@suddenlink.net>
