- A mysterious blackmailing gang known as the Black Aces is terrorizing the local ranchers. Sandy McKenzie, daughter of the owner of the Half Moon ranch, and rancher Ted Ames are in love. They quarrel and Ted rides to town where he meets Jake Stoddard and Len Stoddard who lure him into a card game and he loses his ranch. Sandy and rancher Henry Kline arrange for bank loans to meet the demands of the Black Aces. As Sandy rides home, Ted overtakes her and convinces her he did not kill Jake and is not a member of the Black Aces. Boyd Loomis and Lem Stoddard ride up and cover Ted with a gun with intentions of taking him to the sheriff. Kline helps Ted escape on Boyd's horse, and Ted finds the money Kline gave the blackmailers in Boyd's saddle bags. Ted goes to the gang's headquarters where Sandy is being held prisoner.
