The "Leading Lady" was played by Mildred Harris, who had been married to Charlie Chaplin in her younger years.
When Moe Howard and Curly Howard are seen standing by the bed in the boxcar, there's a scene missing. After the first exchange between the two, Curly is seen wearing three watches, which is usually a cue for The Three Stooges' "telling time" routine. That scene was obviously cut from the final version of this short.
The studio that the Stooges enter is named "Carnation Pictures" with the subheading "From Contented Actors". This was a reference to Carnation brand milk which had the slogan "From Contented Cows".
The studio gate, numbered 1339, was Columbia's studio gate when the short was filmed in late 1935, located at 1339 North Beachwood Drive. It is now part of Sunset/Gower studios inner street entrance on Sunset Blvd.
The name Cecil Z. Swinehardt is obviously a parody combination of noted directors Cecil B. DeMille and Max Reinhardt.
